    Additional Information:
    • This role is Permanent, Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight.
    • This role works across IKEA Logan and North Lakes in Queensland, with time split equally between both stores. Operating in a VAPS environment with shared market leadership, the role connects business results to daily operations across both units.
    • As our store operates 7 days a week, you are expected to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts, including every other weekend, working both Saturday and Sunday.
    • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.

    About this work area

    As Business Navigation & Operations Manager for the Queensland market, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Operate as a market leader in a VAPS environment, supporting shared market leadership across the Logan and North Lakes stores and taking responsibility for the performance and development of both stores.
    • Lead the market business and financial planning process in close partnership with the Market Manager and Market Management team, securing alignment between financial priorities, commercial direction and in-store reality.
    • Drive budgeting, forecasting, follow-up and scenario planning, maintaining a full end-to-end understanding the Profit & Loss of both stores and the operational drivers behind business performance.
    • Actively contribute as a key member of the Market Management team, supporting strategic direction and long-term growth.
    • Identify commercial opportunities in collaboration with the Commercial Team and relevant functions, promoting strong business case, ROI and cost-conscious thinking.
    • Optimise market performance through close-the-gap analysis, benchmark KPIs and implementation of best practice, connecting business results to daily operations and what is happening on the shop floor.
    • Provide relevant, user-friendly business information, building financial and performance competence across the organisation to support strong decision-making, and enable managers to turn insight into practical, sustainable action.
    • Act as a trusted financial business partner and business navigator, influencing managers and specialists across Sales, CFF, Customer Relations, Com&In, IKEA Food, P&C, Recovery, Staff Planning, IT, and Risk & Compliance.
    • Secure succession through talent identification and develop and empower leaders and teams through sharing your business expertise.
    • Provide leadership and governance across Business Risk & Compliance, Product Quality & Recovery, and IT Support, ensuring robust compliance, quality standards, operational continuity, and effective IT support at store level.



    As Business Navigation & Operations Manager you are:
    • A senior business leader with extensive experience in Business Navigation and Operations, ideally within a complex, high-volume retail environment and ideally holding a degree in Business/Finance/Economics or a related field.
    • Highly skilled in financial steering, P&L management, budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to translate strategy into action.
    • Passionate about growing the business through strategic and operational development.
    • An experienced leader who can drive the business plan agenda and steer the business towards sustainable growth and profitability.
    • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, remains curious and adaptable, thinks outside the box and is energised by navigating complexity and change.
    • Commercially minded, analytical and people oriented, with a strong whole-store perspective and the ability to connect business results to customer experience and operational performance.
    • Driven and naturally curious, able to identify and analyse opportunities in a cost-conscious way.
    • Strong at building trusted relationships with stakeholders and influencing decisions that positively impact the business plan, commercial direction and customer experience.
