    Additional Information:
    • This role is permanent full time, 76hrs/fortnight
    • The internal job title for this role is Food Team Leader. Reporting line to the Unit Food Operations Manager.
    • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).

    About this work area

    The IKEA Food team plays a key role in enhancing the overall customer experience and strengthening the IKEA brand by delivering safe, healthy, sustainable, affordable, and enjoyable food experiences. The team is responsible for maintaining high food safety and operational standards, driving commercial performance, reducing waste, and ensuring compliance with IKEA and local legislative requirements to deliver business growth.

    As a Hospitality Operations Leader, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Lead, develop and support your team of co-workers by providing coaching, training, and development opportunities in an inclusive way that enable them to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance ways of working, operational efficiency, and both the co-worker and customer experience.
    • Engage with customers and promote IKEA Food products, using creative merchandising techniques to inspire purchases and drive commercial results.
    • Support the delivery of IKEA Quality and Food Safety standards by ensuring food is prepared and dated according to specifications, HACCP requirements are met, compliance training is maintained, and daily operational routines are consistently followed.
    • Ensure all areas of the Food department are well maintained, clean, organised, attractive, and welcoming to create a positive experience for customers.
    • Lead the successful delivery of change initiatives within the department and across the store, helping co-workers adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.

    • Experienced in a fast-paced retail, hospitality, or customer-focused environment, with skills that are transferable to this role.
    • Growth-minded and committed to continuous learning, always looking for opportunities to improve performance, develop talent, and strengthen team capability.
    • Confident in leading through change, helping co-workers navigate new ways of working while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
    • An effective communicator who builds strong relationships and collaborates with stakeholders across the business to achieve shared goals.
    • Skilled at using data, insights, and customer feedback to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and deliver positive business outcomes.
