  • What you'll need to have

    * You must reside in Japan and have valid work permissions (We prioritize domestic recruitment for this role)

    【Required Qualifications】
    ・Degree from a vocational school, junior college, or university in Architecture, Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or relevant professional experience in a similar role.
    ・Proficiency in basic PC software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience using design tools such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or Revit.
    ・Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative way of working.
    ・A passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home.
    ・Drive for continuous learning, personal development, and improving ways of working.

    【Experience&Skills】
    ・Strong visual and aesthetic competence with the ability to draw, visualise, and communicate ideas.
    ・Ability to deliver range presentation solutions that improve people’s life at home and exceed visitors’ shopping experience.
    ・Ability to generate new ideas and concepts.
    ・Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
    ・Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach to work.
    ・Basic English communication skills, or a positive willingness to develop them further.

    【Working Hours】
    ・7:00 - 16:00
    (Primarily weekday shifts, with occasional weekend and public holiday shifts depending on business needs)

    【About the Communication & Interior Design Department】
    We propose the optimal way to use IKEA products that suit people's lifestyles and environments. We introduce coordination ideas for Japanese homes that leverage the charm of Swedish design, helping more customers become interested in home furnishings and a more comfortable life at home.
    Do you have a passion for "providing a better everyday life for more people" through IKEA products?
    Our goal is not simply to sell furniture, but to create inspiration that exceeds the expectations of those who visit IKEA stores. By visually communicating ideas, we strengthen the IKEA brand and play a role in attracting more customers.     【Job Responsibilities】
    • Always stand from the customer's perspective and propose easy-to-see and easy-to-find store layouts.
    • Plan promotional displays that attractively convey products based on seasons and themes.
    • Create and set up functional and beautiful showroom plans that propose a better life.
    • Create and set up in-store layouts and display plans.
    • Provide functional and beautiful home furnishing ideas based on knowledge of interiors and daily life.
    • Share knowledge about life at home with other departments and contribute to the business.

    【Purpose of Job】
    To create inspiring store solutions for an easy and convenient shopping experience and increasing vitality by translating deep knowledge about consumer buying
    behaviour, store layout, range presentation and local market knowledge thereby contributing to positioning the IKEA Brand in the local market as the home
    furnishing specialist and the IKEA store as an up-to?date and innovative destination that always offers something new.

    【Employment Type】
    • Full-time regular employee, 40 hours/week
    • Probationary period: 6 months
    • Start date: 1st of every month (please consult regarding the starting month)
    • Retirement system in place (age 65)

    Annual holidays: 127 days or more
