  • IKEA Gateshead are looking to welcome two Warehouse Team Managers to join their nightshift team (in IKEA we call this a Fulfilment Operations Team Leader). We’re looking for a motivated, hands‑on team player to help drive efficient fulfilment operations and ensure our customers always have the products they need, when they need them.     WHAT WE OFFER

    • The Start Date of employment will be discussed during interview.
    • Starting salary of £33,000 per annum based on competence and experience.
    • 39 Hours working 5 days per week available 21:30pm - 10:00am including two alternate weekends per month.
    •£2.25 Nightshift allowance paid per hour worked between 22:00-06:00am

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE

    • Be 18 years of age or older.
    • Be able to commute to both the IKEA Gateshead store and our external warehouse at Follingsby Park.
    • Be willing to receive First Aid training and provide First Aid support if required while on shift.

    • Experience of leading teams in a busy warehouse or fulfilment environment, with the ability to prioritise and organise your own and others’ workload.
    • Strong operational planning and organisational skills, including experience managing workload priorities, staffing levels and operational resources.
    • The ability to balance strategic, tactical and day-to-day operational responsibilities.
    • A results-driven approach, with a clear focus on customers and the ability to meet agreed budgets, goals and KPIs.
    • Confidence working with performance data, forecasts and KPIs to support decision-making and improve operational performance.
    • The ability to make quick decisions, take personal initiative and remain calm and effective under pressure.
    • A collaborative mindset, with excellent communication skills and the ability to coach, develop and inspire others.
    • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to learn and embrace the IKEA way of working.
    • A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for finding better ways of working.
    • The ability to implement structured ways of working within your area of responsibility, supported by strong problem-solving skills and proficient computer literacy.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

    • Ensure efficient daily fulfilment operations to maximise stock availability and readiness for our customers.
    • Plan and organise operational activities, balancing staffing levels, workloads and available resources to meet daily volumes and seasonal demands.
    • Use performance data, forecasts and KPIs to monitor results, make informed decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Coach, develop and inspire a motivated team, creating a collaborative work environment that supports equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.
    • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve business goals, communicate priorities clearly and respond effectively to changing circumstances.
    • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, following IKEA health, safety and security regulations and our Code of Conduct.
    • Continuously review and improve ways of working to increase efficiency, maintain quality and keep costs low.
    • Lead by example, remaining calm, flexible and solution-focused in a fast-paced operational environment.
