    Job description

    As a Property Maintenance Generalist, your main responsibilities will be to maintain, supervise, develop, and take care of our outdoor environments in Älmhult and at the Bölsö farm. You work to ensure that our outdoor areas are well maintained, safe, and welcoming for both our employees and our guests. Your responsibilities include mowing lawns, trimming vegetation, weeding, irrigation, leaf collection, hedge trimming, tree pruning, brush clearing, as well as planting and maintaining green spaces. You will also be responsible for the inspection and upkeep of walkways and parking areas.

    During the winter season, your duties include snow removal and ice control. In this role, you will carry out regular inspections to identify and report faults, damage, and safety hazards, as well as perform minor repairs and maintenance work in outdoor areas. You will also assist with the servicing, care, and basic maintenance of the machinery and equipment used in daily operations.

    The tasks vary according to the season, weather conditions, and current operational needs, making the role both diverse and independent.

    IKEA outdoor area in Älmhult is a priority area, we want it to be tidy and nice. We will continue to focus a lot on developing our outdoor areas moving forward, creating green, attractive spaces made for people instead of parking that reflects who we are and our love for life at home. In this role you will be part of the journey and the development of such outdoor spaces. You contribute by actively develop and maintain strong and long-term relationships with colleagues, tenants, suppliers and other stakeholders. Meeting their expectations and making the business locations sustainable and attractive.

    Sustainability is a big part of your agenda, and you make sure to integrate it in your daily work. 

    The employment includes duty-on-call service for outdoor areas for snow and ice removal during the winter period. 


    Qualification

    We are looking for you who is service minded, and self-driven with a passion for outdoor environment, always with sustainability in mind. 

    We see that you have:

    • Experience from working with and maintaining outdoor environments
    • General knowledge and interest in property maintenance
    • Beneficial, but not a requirement to have previous experience from working with tools and equipment normally used for outdoor maintenance
    • Basic computer skills Microsoft Office Applications 
    • Good understanding in both Swedish and English 
    • Driving license (B)

    It is beneficial if you have previous experience from working outdoors with maintenance of commercial or public outdoor areas or specific knowledge in tree pruning or similar.

    More Information

    We are looking for a candidate, who will be focused on the outdoor environment , meaning the work tasks will be performed outdoors main part of the year.

    This is a permanent position full time (40 hours per week) and does also include duty-on-call service. You are located in Älmhult and will report to the Property Manager at IKEA Property AB, Älmhult.
