    As a Project Manager at IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will have the opportunity to lead a diverse range of projects across our Country Portfolio. This role involves leading project teams and resources, meticulously ensuring project scope and alignment, managing timelines, mitigating risks, facilitating communication, addressing people consequences, providing accurate reporting, and effectively implementing change management. A core focus will always be on achieving the lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality, effectively managing external relationships, and driving successful outcomes. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Manage multiple high-complexity projects end-to-end, ensuring adherence to project scope, legal requirements, timelines, sequencing, quality standards, cost-efficiency, risk mitigation, communication, and comprehensive reporting. This includes thorough project evaluation and the capture and sharing of key learnings across country, matrix, and group functions.
    • Leading change management within projects across the organisation, securing clear communication, addressing people consequences, and fostering alignment between projects and all internal partners, as well as external stakeholders including authorities and municipalities, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
    • Leading project teams and other connected resources, actively contributing to building a competent and high-performing team by attracting, developing, and retaining talent. You will secure all dimensions of the project to ensure successful delivery into the business.
    • Ensuring robust project fundamentals, taking accountability for project methodology, tools, steering, assignments, and the onboarding of necessary project resources. You will also be accountable for the project budget, plan, time schedule, and establishing effective project governance.
    • Securing project alignment with global and country strategies and business plans, ensuring funding is in place.
    • Manage interdependencies within projects, between projects, and with the line organisation.
    • Where relevant, procure external service providers/vendors, ensuring effective relationship management and performance.



    You are an accomplished professional with excellent knowledge of project management principles and a strong understanding of change management, particularly in leading through ambiguity. Your broad business acumen, coupled with strong knowledge of the IKEA value chain and retail operations, informs your strategic approach. Being proficient in both agile and waterfall methodologies is favourable. You possess an excellent understanding of consumer, customer, and co-worker needs throughout the shopping experience, and leverage robust knowledge of optimising the omnichannel customer journey to drive growth and seamless interactions. You have a strong grasp of financial cost & growth drivers, their impact on profitability, and how insights & analytics contribute to organisational goals. Your capabilities shine in your strong ability to navigate and lead within complex, dynamic, and evolving business environments, effectively driving positive change to achieve business outcomes. You excel at influencing and inspiring leaders and co-workers, leading the business through people, and building strong relationships and collaborations across the IKEA value chain to consistently deliver results.

    To be considered for this role you will have:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of strong performance in orchestration and execution.
    • Experience working in the retail sector will be highly regarded.
    • Proven experience from senior leadership role(s).
    • Experience within a global organisation, leading in complex business environments with both physical and digital operations and development.

    Additional information:
    • Permanent, full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
    • The location for the role is Service Office, Tempe NSW, with a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.
    • If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a national police check.
