  • As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and strengthening the payroll capability for GFCI (Group Functions, Centres and Investments), working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to establish sustainable processes, drive improvements and support the continued development of payroll services.

    Your main responsibilities will include:

    • Coordinate and support payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, agreements and IKEA's (Ingka Group) policies and procedures.
    • Help co-establish and further develop the payroll capability for GFCI, including sustainable processes, routines and ways of working.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and co-workers to gather information, resolve payroll-related topics and safeguard a positive co-worker experience.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and optimise payroll processes, balancing operational delivery with a tactical improvement perspective.
    • Support the implementation of new initiatives, policies, services, systems and tools impacting payroll.
    • Contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building within the payroll team.
Provide subject matter expertise, guidance and training to managers and co-workers.

    Who you are

We believe you have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or a background in HR administration, with a solid understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and payroll best practices. Experience from a multinational and matrixed organisation is preferred.

You are a relationship builder who creates trust and collaboration across functions, countries and stakeholder groups. You bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and take ownership to move topics forward. You combine operational payroll expertise with the ability to see improvement opportunities and contribute to more effective ways of working.

You are comfortable navigating change and ambiguity. With diplomacy, tenacity and clear communication, you build bridges, align stakeholders and consistently deliver high-quality results.

    What you'll bring:

    • Strong payroll operations expertise and understanding of payroll compliance.
    • A can-do mindset with curiosity, creativity and a practical problem-solving approach.
    • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
    • Diplomacy and confidence in communication across functions, countries and levels.
    • Tenacity and resilience to move topics forward in a changing environment.
    • Consistency, accuracy and attention to detail in daily work.
    • Ability to balance hands-on operational work with process improvement and tactical thinking.
    • Experience collaborating in a multinational and multicultural context.
    • Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
