    • IKEA Reading are looking to welcome a Kitchen Production Assistant to join our delightful and hardworking team. This is a fast-paced role working 30 hours a week.

    As a Kitchen Production Assistant, you will support in producing our meals in our busy customer restaurant - including our meatballs and hot dishes! If you thrive in a fast-paced and team-focused environment, this role will allow you to experience our wonderful everyday.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • Competitive hourly rate of £14.15 per hour.
    • 30 hours a week (working 5 days in 7, 6-hour shifts as standard). Working 3 in 4 weekends a month will be required for this role. Shifts may fall between the hours of 06:00am and 22:00pm.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

    • For this role, you need to be 18 years old or over due to health and safety.
    • Prior kitchen and catering experience is important for this role.
    • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment. You enjoy working in a busy role, where you will be multi-tasking and working to deadlines.
    • Be self-reliant and motivated, ready to work independently and as part of our team.
    • Ability to remain organised and detail-orientated, even when things get busy.
    • A good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards, or a willingness to learn this in your first weeks.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

    • You will be preparing and making meals using our ovens and kitchen equipment to offer a taste of Sweden to our customers and co-workers.
    • The kitchen is a safety-first, fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail for all things safety as well as efficient multi-tasking to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work and have fun.
    • Preparing for the next day's trade, as well as managing waste and working in a sustainable and cost-conscious way.
    • Following a cleaning schedule and making sure the cleanliness of the kitchen is to a high standard.
