  • Who you are

We are looking for a senior system engineer to join us in developing ways for IKEA to stay relevant for our 170 000 coworkers. We believe you are passionate about solving complex problems and turning them into simple, scalable solutions. You take ownership, think long-term, and enjoy working cross-functional and technical boundaries. You are confident leading technical discussions, influencing decisions, and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Our diverse team is growing, and we would love to talk to you if you recognize yourself in some of the following:

    • Passionate about understanding complex problems and turning them into simple solutions
    • Have a strong background in creating data driven solutions
    • Take ownership and independently drive toward desired outcomes while visualizing value
    • Work toward established architectural patterns and engineering standards. This position is in the meeting zone between standard enterprise solutions (SAP, Microsoft, Service Now) and new AI development to stitch the experience together.
    • You are a team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with peers and loves sharing knowledge with others.
    • Proactively manages relevant stakeholders
    • Are curious, self-directed, and want to keep learning
This is our wish list! If you don’t recognize yourself in all these points, you might still be an excellent candidate for the role.

The must-haves we see for this role are:

    • Extensive experience working with experience management in large, global enterprise environments
    • Deep technical knowledge in minimum 2 of the 3 following fields: device management platforms, agent orchestration with user interfaces (for instance MoveWorks or MS Coworking stack) and/or data collection and storing on scale (for instance in BigQuery or DataBricks) for experience management.
    • Strong collaboration skills with various stakeholders across time zones

IKEA culture and values are a big part of our day-to-day work, and we’re looking for someone who shares them and wants to grow with us.

A day in your life with us

You’ll be a vital part of the transformation of IKEA into a more front-line-obsessed company by ensuring that we provide offerings that are both cost-efficient and fit for purpose for our co-workers globally.

    This means that you will:

    • Be our technical mentor and role model, supporting knowledge sharing and engineering excellence within the team
    • Lead and promote good engineering practices and architectural strategies. Also act as a connector between different tech disciplines to provide stakeholders with a point of view to technical solutions and possibilities.
    • Encourage experimentation and engage into building early prototypes for business problems we want to innovate on.
    • Collaborate with product owners to translate business and co-worker needs into technical outcomes and a clear value narrative.
    • Partner with service integrators to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.

    Together as a team

You will work in Group Function Digital Area. This organisation is a new area built to strengthen digital partnerships and delivery across all Ingkas Group Functions. We develop and deliver digital capabilities across key areas like Retail, Finance, People & Culture, Procurement, Legal, Business Risk & Compliance, Communications, Real Estate and Business Steering.

In the Co-Worker Engagement and Experience team, we collaborate across roles and disciplines to create seamless, reliable co-worker experience at scale. We combine deep technical expertise with strong user perspective, working closely with product owners, engineers, service partners and stakeholders across the organisation. By sharing knowledge openly and supporting one another, we turn complexity into simple,

impactful solutions for our co-workers. Together, we make technology an enabler for great everyday work for co-workers at IKEA.

We see so many opportunities for what we can accomplish and have the ambition to be a world-class team. At the same time, we believe that our work is not just about building models, but also about learning and having fun together.

IKEA has long been a global leader in home furnishing. We are proud of our vision to improve the everyday life of the many people. But our industry is quickly changing, and we need to adapt to stay competitive.

    We can offer you:

    • The possibility to enhance Ingka’s coworker experience offer to the next level! We are exploring what it means to be truly data driven and we want you to join us on the journey.
    • Opportunities to have a global impact with your work.
    • A team of great colleagues to learn with and from (with world-class experience across all aspects of Technology).
    • Flexible and friendly working environment.
