Join the Service Office in Janki near Warsaw – together with us, develop IKEA in Poland and have an impact on how it will be today, tomorrow, and in the next years. We work across dozen different areas, jointly supporting the everyday operation of IKEA stores. We are responsible e.g. for the preparation and implementation of national strategies and adaptation of global ones, the introduction of new tools, as well as the implementation of national and international projects. For our team, we are looking for people who have heads full of ideas, make business decisions boldly, and are willing to test new solutions.

ABOUT THIS WORK AREA
Country Sustainability Department secures the integration and implementation of IKEA Sustainability Strategy while securing local relevancy, by putting demands on the business, being sustainability expert and competent business partner for other departments and units.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU NEED TO HAVE:
• approximately 3 years of work experience in sustainability compliance or environmental compliance (preferably also in reporting) and in leading projects,
• excellent project management skills, including stakeholder engagement,
• experience in business, preferably retail sector,
• experience in ESG reporting, practical knowledge and understanding of GRI standard and taxonomy will be of additional value.

YOU:
• have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of sustainability regulations ecosystem in Poland, especially environmental ones,
• have broad knowledge on EU ESG regulatory landscape, including very good knowledge and understanding of CSRD and ESRS,
• have good knowledge of sustainability reporting (including environmental reporting) and verification of non-financial data,
• have ability to drive, manage and implement change,
• you can identify and involve relevant stakeholders from different levels and areas of organization to make things happen,
• know how to lead, follow-up and close complex, cross-functional projects,
• understand risk mapping and assessment,
• can work effectively on multiple initiatives simultaneously,
• can read, understand and analyze regulatory documents,
• turn data into insights,
• have excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to recognize the appropriate style and level of detail for the audience,
• can easily adapt: you can change direction based on new ideas, approaches and strategies, and treat unpredictable situations as opportunities for business growth and personal development,
• know how to run workshops and co-creation processes (esp. using design thinking methodologies),
• like completing tasks and achieve results through collaboration, working with diverse teams and people, you know how to include and engage them into initiatives and projects,
• speak and write Polish and English fluently.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAY-TO-DAY WORK
As a Sustainability & ESG Project Leader you will enable the sustainable transformation and growth of the IKEA business making it ready for the future today through securing compliance with ESG regulations and readiness for ESG reporting. You will also contribute and support others in implementing relevant ESG regulations into their business areas.

You will be focused on Sustainability & ESG compliance and on organizational readiness in this area, and you will:
• set-up and lead cross-functional Sustainability & ESG compliance forum and relevant processes,
• proactively map, capture and analyse current and new Sustainability & ESG legislation (EU and country level) to close any potential gaps, including relevant environmental reporting, address challenges, mitigate risks and use opportunities,
• build awareness, knowledge and engagement of relevant functions, departments and internal stakeholders in Sustainability & ESG compliance,
• work closely with Public Affairs Leader, Legal and Business Risk & Compliance Team and other relevant stakeholders on insights and analyses related to upcoming regulations and compliance frameworks to secure compliance within IKEA Retail Poland,
• propose actions that IKEA Retail Poland can take to improve ESG performance, reporting, delivering an even more positive impact on people and the planet,
• support Business Navigation, Operations & Finance Team in non-financial reporting and audits,
• support Communications team in communication regarding ESG regulations and reporting,
• define the year cycle plan for Sustainability & ESG reporting and confirm commitment to time plans and availability of resources to ensure objectives are met,
• co-create and keep updated rules and ways of working on Sustainability & ESG compliance and reporting, including relevant environmental reporting,
• be a single point of contact for global and country internal & external stakeholders on ESG compliance and reporting, including relevant environmental reporting,
• facilitate and support relevant country departments, stores and other applicable units in integration and implementation of sustainability & ESG compliance in their work and plans,
• share and cooperate with IKEA sustainability community, global ESG PMO, and other relevant global stakeholders.

This position is part of Business Development function and in this role you will be Country Sustainability Department team member and report to the Country Sustainability Manager.

This role is full time, requires working in hybrid model and is located in IKEA Retail Service Office in Janki (near Warsaw). You will also need to travel to different IKEA units from time to time.
