  • IKEA Southampton are looking to welcome a Safety and Security Leader to join our team.

    Your role will be to ensure holistic and proactive safety and security risk-handling, with a specific focus on loss prevention and in-store security. This is an ideal role for someone who is organised, can communicate well, and has a comprehensive knowledge of handling risk and ensuring a safe workplace.

    • Starting salary of £33,500 per annum, based on competence and experience, which can be discussed at interview.
    • 39 hours a week, working 5 days in 7, including alternate weekends.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
    • You will have a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent and/or demonstrated knowledge in the field of Occupational Health & Safety, fire safety and/or security.
    • With a strong sense of integrity, you have the ability to make well balanced decisions taking different business, people and ethical perspectives into consideration.
    • This role will require influencing stakeholders, including senior manages within the store, to ensure training and compliance is carried out in a timely manner.
    • Knowledge of risk and compliance processes and national laws and legislations connected to risk management, health, safety and security, and how to assess and mitigate risks within a business environment.
    • Good knowledge of crisis management and implementation, risk management and the risk assessment process.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
    • Promote risk management and awareness in-store, sharing expertise to develop risk aware decision taking. This includes identifying training needs and providing coaching and guiding of stakeholders to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Secure and ensure compliance of IKEA's internal policies and processes, as well as local legislation, helping to create a 'risk and compliance' culture.
    • Acting as the point of contact for the store in matters connected to risk, compliance, safety and security. This will involve communicating to internal and external stakeholders, including co-workers, visitors to the store, and local authorities.
    • Ensure that documentation, including processes, guidance documents, and risk assessments, are aligned, completed and followed up to provide a knowledgeable workforce who understand their risks.
    • Identify root causes of risk and compliance issues to minimise business loss and financial impact of accidents and claims.
