Job description

Being a solution architect in Digital Services

We all know that your home is more than a house. At IKEA, we also believe your work is more than a job. The digital services team comprises of digital products, data, operations & compliance and this role is an integral part of the digital products team.

In our team we set the digital agenda to keep IKEA growing in a fast moving and uncertain environment. We drive development using new and existing technologies, collaborating externally and internally within the wider group of companies we associate with.

Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Development Support Manager (DSM), Ikano Retail, as a solution architect, you will design, implement and maintain a comprehensive architecture of software solutions and provide technical & strategic direction for solution architecture from conception to implementation. You will influence decisions across multiple levels and drive future architecture across both legacy and new products.

In this role, you are to:

  • Secure digital development by adopting the solution development life cycle and methodologies.
  • Design, architect, and implement secure and scalable solutions leveraging on the solutions within the landscape (primarily connected to the Microsoft D365 suite).
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering team, product managers, internal stakeholders, and vendors to design digital products through technical collaboration.
  • Secure thorough understanding of system architecture across the solution landscape.
  • Evaluate business and technical requirements and define the right architecture & technology stack in line with the existing enterprise environment.
  • Recommend and design the right integration approach by evaluating vendor solutions with internal solutions.
  • Develop and document technical specifications, architectural blueprints, and configurations for the entire solution landscape.
  • Evaluate existing web of solutions and define improvement strategies where needed with a growth agenda.
  • Identify digital product development opportunities though assessment of products and through technology & business trends.
  • Stay up to date on latest Microsoft D365 BC, CRM, F&O technical changes and updates.
  • Actively support the digital transformation journey.

 


Qualification

To be successful in as a solution architect, we believe you’ll need a proven education in information technology, computer science or equivalent. You’ll have minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in solution design, architecture and integrations and 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud hosted applications. In addition to this, you’ll need to have:

  • Proven experience in working with Microsoft D365 Business central, on-premise and/or cloud.
  • Proven track record of leading solution development from design to implementation with a good balance between user/customer experience.
  • Broad and in-depth understanding of coupling and decoupling of digital solutions to minimise dependencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft D365 suite of products and services. Primarily Business Central (BC), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Finance & Operations (F&O).
  • Deep knowledge on typical integration patterns (APIs, web services etc).

Software development knowledge on Microsoft D365 suite solutions will be seen as a plus.
