    Additional Information:
    • This role is Permanent Full Time, 76hrs/fortnight
    • The internal job title for this role is Visual Merchandising/Activity Co-worker
    • You must have the availability to work 7:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday (and occasional weekend or public holiday shifts according to business needs).
    • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
    • If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check.

    Recruitment Process Overview:
    • Please include a portfolio showcasing your design and visual merchandising work with your application.
    • Video interview: if shortlisted, you will be invited to complete a short video interview.
    • Panel interview: if progressed, you will be invited to meet with two members of the hiring team for an in-person interview.
    • Assessment task: if successful, you will be invited to a second-round as part of the interview process, you will complete a practical task designed to showcase your creativity, technical skills and suitability for the role.

    About this work area

    As Visual Merchandising Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Use your design competence to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity, inspire and surprise our visitors.
    • Work with our commercial calendar you will plan inspiring commercial displays for the store, most of your time will be spent implementing and bringing your plans to life on the shop floor.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure a seamless shopping experience.
    • Engaging others through the ability to visualise and present a commercial idea.
    • Contribute to position the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
    • Constantly on the move in the store to successfully implement your tasks and duties.
    • Stay up to date with home furnishing trends, retailing and design to generate creative directions that inspire and surprise visitors.



    As Visual Merchandising Co-worker you are:
    • Formally qualified in design, with demonstrated experience in a relevant creative field.
    • Passionate about implementing ideas from concept to reality, with a practical, hands-on approach and ability to work comfortably with tools and at heights.
    • Curious and driven to understand people’s life at home, retail trends and customer behaviour.
    • A creative thinker with strong commercial visual competence and a keen eye for aesthetics.
    • Experienced working in a fast-paced retail environment with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Confident in communication and collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
    • Strong digital capability, including Microsoft Office applications and design tools such Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar programs.
