    Located in the heart of Copenhagen, our city store plays an important role in making IKEA more accessible to the many people of Copenhagen, strengthening our brand, and reaching new customers. Since opening in August 2023, IKEA Copenhagen has become an inspiring and convenient destination that brings IKEA closer to where people live, work, and move. Today, the store offers nearly 7,000 home furnishing products available for immediate purchase and take-home.

    We're looking for a skilled and creative carpenter to help bring IKEA Copenhagen to life through high-quality craftsmanship, smart solutions, and inspiring store environments.

    As a Carpenter at IKEA, you are passionate about bringing ideas to life through creative and practical solutions. You combine craftsmanship with a strong commercial mindset and understand how your work contributes to an inspiring customer experience. You enjoy working collaboratively, take ownership of your responsibilities, and consistently deliver high-quality results. With a flexible and hands-on approach, you turn plans into reality and help create a store environment that reflects the IKEA identity while meeting business needs.

    Your responsibilities

    As part of the Sales & Retail Design team, you will support the visual presentation of IKEA's unique range by delivering high-quality craftsmanship and installation work throughout the store.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Carrying out installation and construction projects in collaboration with colleagues across the store, including building walls, laying flooring, painting, basic electrical work, installing fixtures, fitting kitchens, tiling bathrooms, and similar tasks.
    • Creating safe, high-quality, and innovative craftsmanship solutions.
    • Planning projects and renovations, including ordering the necessary materials.
    • Working closely with colleagues to ensure the store is always well maintained.
    • Contributing to strengthening IKEA's position as the first choice for home furnishing solutions in the local market.

    Further information

    • This is a full-time position averaging 37 hours per week.
    • Evening and weekend work is required as part of store activities and events.
    • Salary within IKEA’s salary policy is based on your competencies and includes pension.
    • We have various staff benefits, including private health insurance, massage, staff canteen, staff discount, a discount club with external partners, a yearly gift, and a bonus.
    • This role is subject to a satisfactory criminal record check.
