  • As a Project Leader at IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will drive a diverse range of projects across the country, playing a key role in shaping our strategic priorities.     As a Project Leader at IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will lead projects from initiation to completion. Your role involves ensuring project scope and alignment, managing timelines, mitigating risks, facilitating communication, addressing organisation impact, providing accurate reporting, and effectively implementing change management standards set in your team. Your focus will be on achieving the lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality, managing external relationships, and driving successful outcomes. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Leading projects from initiation to completion, ensuring meticulous adherence to project scope, legal requirements, timelines, sequencing, quality standards, cost-efficiency, risk mitigation, comprehensive reporting, and thorough to project evaluation. You will also capture and share learnings across the country, matrix, and group functions.
    • Enabling successful change management by securing effective communication, addressing organisational impact, and ensuring alignment between projects and all internal partners, as well as external stakeholders like authorities and municipalities, to guarantee timely and successful project delivery.
    • Leading resources connected to the project, ensuring all dimensions of the project contribute to a successful delivery into the business.
    • Securing project fundamentals by taking responsibility for project methodology, tools, steering, assignments, and onboarding of necessary project resources. You will also be responsible for the project budget, plan, time schedule, and preparing materials for governance forums.
    • Ensuring project alignment with global and country strategies and business plans. You will manage interdependencies within projects, between projects, and with the line organisation.



    You possess strong knowledge of project management, change management, and how to lead effectively in ambiguous situations, coupled with a broad business understanding. Your expertise extends to the IKEA value chain and retail operations, alongside a deep understanding of consumer, customer, and co-worker needs throughout the shopping experience. You are skilled in optimising and continuously developing the customer omnichannel experience to drive growth and seamless interactions, and you grasp the impact of financial cost & growth drivers on profitability from an omnichannel perspective.

    With a strong understanding of insights & analytics and extensive knowledge of the IKEA Brand, culture, and values. Your capabilities include a strong ability to navigate and lead in complex, dynamic, and evolving business environments, effectively driving positive change to achieve business goals. You can influence and inspire leaders and co-workers, lead indirectly through people, and build strong relationships and successful collaborations across the IKEA value chain to consistently deliver results. To be considered for this role you will have:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with a proven performance and strong track record.
    • Experience working in the retail sector will be highly regarded.
    • Experience within a global organisation, leading in a complex business environment with physical and digital operations and development.
    • Proven experience in building large-scale networks and collaborations.

    Additional information:
    • Permanent, full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
    • The location for the role is Service Office, Tempe NSW, with a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.
    • If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a national police check.
