    • At least 6 years of experience in real estate development, asset management, or similar fields.
    • A solid background in law, urban planning, architecture, or business administration.
    • Experience working with public authorities and managing complex permitting processes, with good understanding of local regulations.
    • A strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic approach – turning insights into practical solutions that create long-term value.
    • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with internal functions, external partners, and public authorities to move complex projects forward.

    A day in your life with us

    • Leading the acquisition, leasing, development and potential divestment of locations in line with business cases, investment requests and the country Real Estate scope. Ensuring cost and risk are managed across key processes such as zoning, planning, permitting, leasing, valuation and operations.
    • Building strong working relationships with local authorities, communities, neighbors, and other external stakeholders to secure support for development, planning, and permitting of new or existing properties. Collaborating with property partners and internal Ingka functions to finalize projects and ensure smooth handovers, including complete documentation after acquisition and permit approvals.
    • Manage real estate risks, taxes, fees, and obligations to protect IKEA’s interests. Oversee infrastructure and utility agreements, ensuring compliance and cost-efficiency, and lead the approval and execution of public infrastructure, utilities, and off-site improvements to deliver projects safely, transparently, and effectively.
    • Coordinating with other Ingka businesses and functions where Ingka acts as Landlord or Tenant, ensuring all legal, financial, and operational requirements are met. Representing Ingka in property associations and with shared property owners to safeguard interests and optimize operating costs.

    We offer a permanent, full-time role based in Bucharest, Romania. While this role does not include mobility support, it does involve regular travel across the region. Advanced English and Romanian language skills are required.
