    Additional information:
    • This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
    • Applications close Thursday 1 May 2025
    • This role requires availability to work Monday – Sunday, shift times will range across 7:00am – 9:00pm.
    • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
    • You will work out of both IKEA Logan and IKEA North Lakes in a fortnightly roster rotation.
    • You will be part of the Duty Manager roster and must be available to work every second weekend across both Queensland units.
    • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.

    About this work area

    As People Planning Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Lead the implementation of people planning strategies, ensuring adherence to IKEA principles and localised processes.
    • Ensure compliance with employment standards, local labour laws, and union requirements, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in timekeeping and scheduling.
    • Collaborate with unit P&C Manager and Business Navigation to analyse forecasts, propose solutions, and address planning gaps, ensuring alignment with financial goals and growth potential.
    • Consolidate and manage budgets, workload drivers, and staffing plans, ensuring an optimal contract level mix and alignment with business needs.
    • Identify future capacity gaps, initiate schedule optimisations, and oversee recruitment processes to meet defined headcount and capacity requirements.
    • Develop and lead training programs on people planning and timekeeping processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and enhancing team competency.
    • Review and refine timekeeping processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution, continuously driving process improvements.



    As People Planning Manager you have:
    • A strong people leadership background, able to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels and navigate change while bringing people along for the journey.
    • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and propose effective solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of acting as a business partner to department managers.
    • Proficiency in using digital systems and tools for people planning and have experience analysing relevant data and KPIs.
    • You are proactive in identifying capacity gaps and initiating optimisation processes, with a focus on re-skilling and recruitment.
    • You are committed to developing and leading education and training initiatives to enhance people planning processes.
    • You have a talent for identifying and developing future leaders, ensuring competence development and succession planning.
