Core Business Retail Concept is assigned to protect, expand, and develop the IKEA Concept and the IKEA Brand in existing and new markets globally. This includes sharing IKEA knowledge and learning across the entire franchise system.

We are looking for people with a proven track record of making a difference through strong leadership and a creative mindset. If you want to be a part of bringing the IKEA Concept to life for our many co-workers around the world, we’re interested in you.

Within Retail Concept, the Concept Description team has the core responsibility to describe the IKEA Concept and keep it up-to-date, relevant and accessible for all 220,000 IKEA co-workers. We do this to enable co-workers to understand and successfully implement the IKEA Concept consistently across all IKEA customer meeting points (stores and digital touchpoints) in all IKEA markets.

We’re looking at new ways of producing, sharing, and boosting digital content. This requires us to develop our content offer and next level experiences which we can scale effectively.

As a Concept Description Leader, you will be responsible for leading strategic and prioritised activities resulting in the development of IKEA Concept content. You will plan and lead assignments from end to end. You will build and maintain strong networks across IKEA organisations globally.

About you

You are an ambitious leader, talented and open-minded, who can deal with complex topics that run across organisations and can handle push backs. You are an energised self-starter with a solid leadership approach. You can work effectively alone and collaboratively with business focus and aim to maximise impact. You are a great communicator, can facilitate high level conversations with confidence and have experience in senior stakeholder management. You have a straightforward approach and are not shy to speak up in groups when needed. You can spot opportunities which deliver greater business value.

To be successful in this role, the following knowledge, skills, and experiences would be valuable:

  • You have five years plus experience in a senior leadership role.

  • Have extensive experience in planning and leading big assignments from beginning to end, with proof of deliverables.

  • Deep knowledge and experience of retail concepts and meeting customer needs in an omnichannel environment.

  • Highly experienced in leading digital content developments which drive business results.

  • Good understanding of franchise and value-chain set-ups.

  • Excellent at building relationships with stakeholders and retail business partners.

  • Ability to lead leaders, inspire and co-create with others.

  • Confident in developing and leading workshops and training sessions.

  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.

At IKEA, we are looking for people who believe everyone deserves a seat at the table. You’re welcome no matter where you come from, what you believe, and what you look like. We don’t even care how you have furnished your home. We’re interested in you simply because you’re you. Even if your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. We believe that people’s different perspectives, backgrounds, and personalities make us better at understanding our customers dreams and needs. At IKEA, we’re all on the same project.

If you have a special need that requires accommodation in the recruitment process, just let us know.
