  • What you'll need to have

    •Minimum one year of relevant Human Resources experience, preferably in a benefits environment
    •Proficient with the use of computer and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
    •Proven experience with problem solving and working through unique situations in a fast-pace environment
    •Demonstrated expertise in utilizing vendor platforms and navigating diverse websites to efficiently source and verify co-worker information
    •Proven experience managing cases and tickets with resolution within designated Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
    •Possesses strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret/audit large quantities of data and draw conclusions
    •Demonstrates a curious mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving, investigating issues thoroughly and collaborating with stakeholders to drive resolutions
    •Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively across a range of situations with varying levels of impact
    •Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with different teams across all levels of the organization
    •Possesses an empathetic mindset and leverages strong customer service skills to navigate sensitive co-worker conversations with discretion
    •Proven knowledge of different federal, state, and local laws regarding leave of absences
    •Proven experience handling escalated calls with professionalism and discretion, while consistently delivering high-quality customer service in sensitive/ complex situations


    JOB TYPE: Regular/Permanent, Hourly, Full-time

    HOURS LEVEL: HL3 (34-40 hours/week)

    AVAILABILITY REQUIRED: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM-5:30 PM
    Core Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 AM-5:30 PM

    HYBRID WORKPLACE: 3 days onsite in the GBO in White Marsh, MD , 2 days remote. Wednesdays are mandatory onsite.

    Candidate must be commutable to White Marsh, MD. There is no relocation for this position

    SALARY RANGE: $23.61-$33.67

    What you'll be doing day to day

    • Updates the location Human Resource Business Partners regarding overlap and concurrent types of Leave of Absence; Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, FMLA (State MLA, if applicable) and ADA interaction conversations and reasonable accommodations.
    • Processes cases and pay for all LOA, Parental Leave and Sabbatical cases through the entire life cycle of the claims.
    • Communicates the appropriate follow up and advocacy for co-workers throughout the entire lifecycle with open Leave of Absence cases by reviewing the status of the LOA approval and/or denial of the claim.
    • Reviews and consults with the Sr. Leave of Absence Specialist for complex case recommendations.
    • Collaborates, communicates and updates external parties as required regarding Leave of Absence, ADA Reasonable Accommodations and Personal Leaves.
    • Completes and submits EDD state leave forms to appropriate states where they are required.
    • Assists with the preparation and processing of weekly LOA payroll files, including various audits
    • Reviews and processes all LOA emails in the HR Benefits mailbox.
