What you'll need to have
【Requirements】
• 3+ years of professional experience in legal function with BA degree in law from university in Japan. Masters degree in law from another jurisdiction is an asset.
• Willingness to support the internal stakeholders beyond pure legal issues with good sense of balance between legal/compliance and business matters.
• Logical and analytical thinking driven by intellectual curiosity and pleasure of learning.
• Open-mindedness and adaptability towards international, multicultural and diverse environment.
• English level: Proficient (TOEIC 900 or higher)
• Japanese level: Fluent or Native

【Purpose of this Job】
Responsibility to assist to review, support and secure the legal aspects of the businesses and operations in in Ingka [Country] within the framework of working defined by Ingka Group Legal & Governance

【Your Responsibilities】
Responsibility to assist the legal manager with review, support and secure legal aspects of the businesses and operations in IKEA Japan (also applicable for bullets below):
• Cooperate with, integrate in the business, and build good relations with, stakeholders to secure mutually sustainable solutions.
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents.
• Pro-actively support the management and other stakeholders in order to run the IKEA business and to secure the rights and assess the obligations in order to reduce exposure to legal risks and to optimise business opportunities.
• Active cooperation with Group Legal & Governance in order to secure alignment of country agenda
• Contribute to, and support the implementation of the Business Plan, development projects, corresponding roadmap
• Implement standard processes and ways of working for the legal area in the Ingka Group.
• Develop competence and provide education to relevant stakeholders in the area of laws and regulations.
• Keep updated in relevant international and local legal and governance developments, including changes in international, domestic and case laws and regulations.

【Working Hours】
Flexible working hours under the flextime system (based on a labor-management agreement).

【Where you work/Access】
The Service Office (Head Office) of IKEA Japan is located on the 5th floor of IKEA Tokyo-Bay. We work in a hybrid style, coming to the office 2–3 times a week, with the flexibility to work from home on other days. The office is a bright, open collaboration space, fully furnished with IKEA home furnishings!

About this work area
【Employment Status】
- Full-time regular employee- 40 hours per week contract
- Probation period: 6 months
- Start date is the first day of every month (consult with us about your start date)
- Retirement age: 65 years old
