    About this work area

    As an IKEA Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Maintaining a clean, organised and inviting area to support food standards and enhance the customer experience
    • Supporting food preparation and customer service with attention to food safety, waste control and production levels
    • Carrying out physical tasks such as clearing tables, assisting in the dish room, wiping benchtops and assisting with stocktake
    • Contributing to active selling, cash handling and customer interactions in a fast-paced environment
    • Creating a welcoming atmosphere through heartfelt customer service and attentiveness to customer needs
    • Thriving in a team culture built on IKEA values
    • Being open to new experiences, with a focus on learning and growing in the role.

    • Comfortable with hands-on tasks across different areas within IKEA Food
    • Focused on creating a positive experience for our customers through friendly and helpful service

    • Able to follow IKEA Food and safety routines, including temperature and date checks

    • Experience in the fast-food industry or hospitality is desirable, but it certainly isn’t essential, we value motivation and a willingness to learn
    • Committed to helping create a welcoming and efficient work environment.

    What you need to know

    • The work location for this role is our Sylvia Park store.
    • We have permanent and fixed-term roles available with various shift patterns:
    a. 24-39 hours per fortnight (part-time) 
    b. 40-59 hours per fortnight (part-time) 
    c. 60-79 hours per fortnight (part-time) 
    d. Full time hours per fortnight
    • Fixed-term contracts will end on 28th of February 2026
    • The internal title for this role is IKEA Co-worker
    • The first step of the recruitment process will be an application form. If you are successful to the next step, you will be notified via email and invited to complete a video interview or phone interview. Don’t worry - we all get nervous in front of a camera but even if you feel shy, it’s a great way to meet you!
    • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts based on trading hours. You also must have the availability to work weekends.
    • IKEA Sylvia Park is a non-smoking workplace.
