    We are excited to announce the launch of our new store in Chandigarh an important step in our journey to create a better everyday life for the many people.Following the successful openings of our two stores in Delhi, this new location strengthens our presence in Northern India and brings IKEA closer to customers in one of the country's most dynamic and culturally rich cities.
    As we prepare to open our doors in Chandigarh we are looking for passionate co-workers who share our values, are inspired by home furnishing, and are committed to creating meaningful experiences for our customers. Together, we will make IKEA more accessible, deliver a seamless omnichannel experience, and continue building long-term relationships with the many people in and around Chandigarh.

    For this role we believe you have:
    • Carpentry-related work experience.
    • Craftsmanship and carpentry competence.
    • Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics.
    • A passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home.
    Possess a customer-focused mindset.
    • Ability to explain ideas and solutions verbally.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize own work in order to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed deadlines. Proficient computer skills.

    Your responsibilities

    • Use knowledge of people’s life at home, range presentation and the IKEA visual identity to support the Com&In team in presenting and communicating the IKEA product range.
    • Prioritize work to meet the needs and expectations of store visitors and minimize disruption when working on the shop floor.
    • Secure high quality, simplicity and cost-consciousness in the execution of work by using best practices and following routines.
    • Implement the agreed Com&In/store action plan with a sense of urgency and an eye for detail in order to support the creation of a strong visual impression in the store. Be conscious of the importance of safety at all times while working on the shop floor and take fast action when safety is compromised.
    • Plan and order materials and resources and ensure costs are accurate and agreed. Reduce the environmental footprint and minimize costs by working consciously with resources and materials, and maximizing opportunities to recycle and reuse materials.
    • Stay up to date with knowledge about carpentry to increase quality and efficiency.
