  • A day in your life with us
Essence of the role: In this role, you will be diving deep into IKEA’s delivery network, analysing data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and translating your findings into actionable insights that help us deliver better, smarter, and more sustainably to our customers.
    What you will do:
    - Analyse delivery network data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction across our fulfilment operations
    - Work with platforms such as Mover, Centiro, and Excel to gather, structure, and interpret operational data
    - Collaborate with team members to translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for process improvements
    - Communicate insights and progress updates to stakeholders in both Dutch and English, adapting your message to different audiences

    Our team within IKEA
Can you imagine? IKEA started as a small mail-order company in Älmhult, a rural village in Sweden. Today, we are in 63 countries with a unique range of products. Working at IKEA means working in a world of ideas, described by our colleagues as a place where everyone is welcome and you can be yourself. We make a difference for as many people and the planet as possible. It’s also a place where you can shape your career and where there is plenty of room for your practical creativity and ideas. All this while working in a great team with colleagues who are always there for you and ready to help when needed.
You will join the Service Fulfilment Optimization team. A data-driven, curious group focused on making our delivery network smarter and more efficient. We work closely together, challenge each other’s thinking, and genuinely enjoy finding solutions that make a real difference for IKEA and our customers.

    WHO YOU ARE
At IKEA, we believe it’s important that you can be yourself. You have an analytical mind that loves digging into data to find the story behind the numbers and the communication skills to bring others along with you. You think critically, question assumptions, and aren’t satisfied with “that’s just how it’s done”. At the same time, you’re a natural team player who thrives in collaborative settings. These qualities matter in this role because our work is only as impactful as the decisions it enables.

    What else you need:
    - Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modelling)
    - Experience with, or willingness to quickly learn using, Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization
    - Proficiency in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)
    - Affinity with logistics, supply chain, or operations — either through study or work experience
    - Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant HBO or university program (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or similar)

    WHAT ELSE IS IMPORTANT
If you take on this role with us, you can expect the following:
    - We are proud of our informal, open work atmosphere where your opinion counts.
    - A fun, educational, dynamic place to intern and develop yourself.
    - In addition to all the knowledge and experience you gain with us, you will receive a monthly internship allowance of €340 (based on 32-40 hours).
    - This internship starts from early September for 5-6 months.
    - Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
