As our Product Requirement Engineer, you’ll have many opportunities to try things you’ve never done before.
Your new job
You’ll be an important part of our team, turning customer expectations into clear technical requirements.
Your main focus? Making sure our products are sustainable, safe, and loved by people everywhere.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for requirements in the development team. You’ll build strong connections with the requirement development department and collaborate closely with engineers in purchasing to make sure everyone understands the product requirements and that they’re implemented successfully.
You’ll bring solid knowledge of IKEA specifications, standards, and test methods for the product areas you’re responsible for. Together, we’ll create products that work for our customers and for the planet.
The impact of our work will resonate in homes and hearts across the world. On a typical working day, you will:
- Take responsibility to develop and communicate Ikea products´ documentation with the right stakeholders - the base of our contract agreement with suppliers
- Develop product requirements for sustainable, safe and functional products and identify and connect to product legal and market specific requirements
- Order product samples, organize testing, evaluate as per requirements and share feedback of product samples during development or 0-series production phases of development process.
- Participating in team meetings where progress of product development process is tracked
What you’ll bring to the table
- A university degree in Textile Engineering (or similar)
- A few years of experience in textile development or creating and documenting textile product requirements
- Confidence to lead yourself, take responsibility, and drive initiatives from start to finish
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage large amounts of data, spot patterns, and apply best practices
- A passion for sharing knowledge and explaining complex matters in a simple, clear way
- Great skills in planning, prioritizing, executing, and following up on tasks to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with agile development methods and motivation to work in a fast-changing environment
