  • Who you are

    The purpose of this function to inspire and surprise visitors by presenting and communicating the IKEA home furnishing offer with strong visual impressions that exceed visitors’ expectations. This will strengthen the IKEA Brand and convert more visitors into customers. The purpose of the job to lead, develop and inspire the Com&In team and other functions in the store in increasing the home furnishing interest of the many people and creating demand for home furnishing solutions and know how in the local market and be accountable for the store layout, range presentation and store communication thereby contributing to positioning the IKEA Brand as the leader in life at home.
    You should have knowledge of Home furnishing the IKEA way (living situations, style groups, store communication, furnish with light). Range presentation the IKEA way (layout as a commercial tool, store media, display techniques) and understand life at home in the local market and the outcome of market research, e.g. IKEA Customer Satisfaction Survey, IKEA Brand Capital. Understand trends that influence home furnishing. Work method for presenting the range the IKEA way. You should be able to understand the IKEA Concept and IKEA Brand objectives, IKEA mechanical sales system, IKEA strategic landscape, global tools and solutions.
    You should understand on how to lead creative processes and how to build business competence through recruitment, competence development, retention and succession. You should have the ability to combine and identify commercial, aesthetic and practical skills. Ability to create a trustful and creative environment. Good analytical and strategic skills, including the ability to steer the store business over the short-, mid- and long term.

    Your responsibilities

    Your Responsibilities will include the following:
    • Extensive experience of working in a design-orientated role (interior design, graphic design, visual merchandising and/or store planning).
    • Possess a design-based education. Experienced in managing, inspiring, leading and developing people and creative processes in a changing environment. Experienced in visually expressing the brand identity of a company.
    • Visual competence, including a keen eye for aesthetics. Proven customer-focused mindset.
    • Demonstrate clear communication and coaching skills, i.e. the ability to explain verbally concepts and visual interpretation.
    • Set and implement action plans, set expectations, provide clear direction and follow up goals.
    • Proven ability to prioritise and organise work and the work of others in order to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed goals and deadlines.
    • Communicate confidently and clearly in English Experience of problem solving.
    • Based on the national competence development plan, identify current competence levels in the teams and set up an action plan to develop and retain a high performing and passionate store Com&In team, with potential on succession.
    • Secure ways of working in the store commercial team, secure they have the right understanding of store layout, range presentation and store communication thereby contributing to the work method for range presentation.
    • Secure a deep understanding of Life at Home in the PMA and make the insights to reflect in the business plan process, translated into clear direction for commercial briefs as well as in rebuilds.
    • Secure an accurate Life at home knowledge platform, based on Unit/PMA, with a deep understanding of Local relevancy. (Based on up to date and relevant Home visits/national insights and local insights, facts and figures)
    • Secure the level of knowledge on Life at home and local relevancy is transferred and up to date to the HFRD team and store commercial team.
