Hej Platform Manager! Ready to help shape the future with smart, innovative solutions?
At IKEA, you can feel at home while making a difference for millions. We’re a place where everyone is welcome, encouraged to explore new tech, try new things and grow from mistakes. As our Platform Manager, you’ll have the chance to stretch your skills, experiment and work in new ways.
We are transforming the Technology and Platform organisation to build a modern and scalable technology foundation for Inter IKEA. To make this shift possible, we need an organisation that is fully aligned with our Operating Model: one that works with a strong product‑ and platform‑thinking mindset and is ready to take full accountability from strategy to operations.
Job description
About the role
We’re looking for a Platform Manager who wants to solve meaningful, real‑world challenges that help make life at home better for the many. Join us on our journey as we strengthen and evolve our technology platforms and digital services to enable safe, reliable, and sustainable experiences across IKEA.
As Platform Manager for End-user computing, you lead a dedicated team responsible for the foundational hardware and client platforms that our co-workers rely on every day. You don't just manage inventory; you lead the evolution of our global client fleet and print services into a high-scale enablement model. You take full end-to-end accountability for the performance, security, and lifecycle of our diverse hardware landscape—including Windows, Macs, phones, tablets, and rugged devices—and the mission-critical print infrastructure throughout our offices, distribution centres, and stores.
You treat End-user computing services as products, where success is measured by the stability, security, and ease of use for the co-worker, regardless of their device or location. Driving the shift toward cloud-managed environments and ensuring that our mobility solutions and rugged devices are secure and ready for the demands of the value chain. You take ownership of technology choices, hardware standards, and financial governance to ensure our foundation is cost-efficient, sustainable, and future-ready.
Collaboration is central to your way of working. You partner with co-workers across technology and business networks to align capabilities with real needs, clearly communicating roadmaps and priorities. You also coordinate cross‑unit dependencies and help strengthen shared processes, tools and ways of working across IKEA.
As a leader, you build and develop high‑performing teams with the right competence for today and tomorrow. You own the budget for your area, ensuring responsible planning and cost optimisation. You also manage suppliers and contracts in a way that supports our ways of working and delivers value for IKEA. Through your leadership, our end‑user computing platforms remain simple, secure and ready for the many co‑workers who rely on them.
About you
You bring a strong understanding of how foundational client technologies support the everyday needs of a global organization. You combine technical depth in client engineering with a strong product leadership mindset. You understand that the best platform is one that is stable, secure, and requires minimal manual intervention, whether it’s a laptop in an office, a phone in the store, or a rugged device in a warehouse. You understand modern management for a mixed fleet of Windows, Mac, and portable hardware like smartphones, tablets, PoS, rugged mobile devices and various other endpoints. You understand the importance of managing the complexity of print infrastructure across offices and distribution centres as a modern, automated platform.
You have hands‑on experience across IT service operations, release management and end‑to‑end digital product development. Frameworks like TOGAF, ITIL, Lean, Agile and DevOps are familiar to you, and you stay curious about emerging technologies and market trends. You’re mindful of security, privacy, compliance and risk, integrating them naturally into your decisions to create resilient and reliable platforms.
As a people‑centred leader, you develop high‑performing teams, grow competence and guide others through change with clarity. You collaborate easily with stakeholders across the IKEA network, supported by strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to bring structure in complexity. Budget management and cost optimisation are part of how you deliver, balancing long‑term direction with simple and effective execution.
You thrive in a fast‑changing environment and bring a growth mindset exploring, learning and sharing better ways forward. You take initiative, drive results and feel energised by improving platforms that make work easier for the many co‑workers. Above all, you lead with IKEA values at the heart, using technology to enable “a better everyday life for the many.”
To be successful in this role, the following knowledge, skills and experiences would be valuable:
Strong understanding of platforms, architecture, and technology ecosystems across cloud, on‑prem and hybrid environments, including DevOps, automation, software engineering principles, and Modern Endpoint Management (Intune/Jamf).
Proven experience in owning a platform domain, including strategy, budget (FinOps), and operational excellence.
Above all, to thrive at IKEA, you should lead with our values and enjoy working in a culture built on togetherness, simplicity, cost-consciousness and a drive to always find better ways.
