    About the job:

    The Customs Manager ensures the efficiency and compliance of the import and export related activities in the country. The Customs Manager makes sure that the work is organized in an optimal way in the country in order to secure efficiency as well as a high level of internal control. You will be working from our offices in Jarosty and Janki, combining tasks between these locations.


    About the assignment:

    you will take responsibility for local import and export, including securing efficient and effective internal controls and compliance to internal and external rules and regulations,

    · manage and maintain daily interaction with customs authorities, control external audits and local certification procedures,

    · support the establishment and execution of one common annual business plan for customs operations and deliver agreed activities,

    · take active part in the development of the customs operations IT landscape,

    · implement and maintain local customs & trade solutions such as bonded warehouse & Free Trade Zones,

    · monitor changes in local rules and legislations and communicate events with potential business impact internally in due time,

    · monitoring EU regulations, implementing solutions in cooperation with global functions

    · secure good cooperation with Global IKEA Customs Team

    · secure development and co-creation with Matrix functions

    · when applicable establish trade statistics and communicate result with governmental agencies as well as handle the interface towards customs brokers/agents,

    · ensure efficient and reliable handling of local customs related documents,

    · actively identify and manage risks related to customs operations.


    About you:

    you have a strong passion for people - you are a leader who concentrates on development of the team and will be able to ensure succession plan,

    · you have previous experience of import and export from a national environment (preferably in a matrix and/or process oriented organisation),

    · you have a good ability to interpret legal provisions

    · you have previous experience from dealing with external authorities,

    · you have an expertise in import end export related rules and regulations,

    · good understanding and knowledge bout supply chain operation will be an asset,

    · you’re fluent in written and spoken Polish and English.
