    • Who you are

    As Senior Subject Matter Expert (Sr. SME) you will deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements, drive technological advancements, and provide subject matter expertise in the area of SAP BASIS and HANA.

    Facilitate engineering alignment across the domain, by promoting modern software engineering principles, fostering technical synergies across teams and service areas as well as leading the implementation of engineering initiatives at (sub-) domain level.

    Promoting the culture and values of the organization in all interactions and deliverables, advancements and providing subject matter expertise in the SAP and S4 HANA - BASIS and HANA Admin.

    One of your primary responsibilities involves engaging with stakeholders, including business leaders, solution and technical architects, project managers, and end-users, to understand requirements and challenges thoroughly. This collaboration extends to designing, reviewing, and architecting solutions that address identified needs within IKEA's technology-process-delivery ecosystem.

    You are actively involved in providing SAP Infra technical guidance to development teams, ensuring solutions align with industry best practices and standards. Troubleshooting, analyzing defects, and offering preventive actions for potential issues are also part of your daily tasks. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is crucial to ensure proposed solutions meet both technical and business requirements.

    In terms of strategy and roadmap, you analyze the current landscape, goals, and challenges to suggest continuous improvement and innovation. You anticipate future hurdles and develop mitigation strategies while staying updated on relevant technologies to bring new solutions to the table.

    In the realm of SAP technical and functional expertise, you demonstrate proficiency in designing and architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance BASIS solutions. You will develop a deep understanding of IKEA's business processes and you have relevant industry understanding. Integration technologies, security principles, analytical skills, and adherence to regulatory compliance are all part of your expertise.

    Problem-solving and decision-making are critical aspects of your role, requiring the application of critical thinking to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions based on data and stakeholder input. Stakeholder management is also vital, as you work with enterprise and domain architects and business stakeholders to adopt new technologies and ensure alignment and value delivery across various organizations within Ingka. Ultimately, your role contributes to the organization's growth and efficiency through continuous improvement, innovation, and effective technology implementation.

    You have experience in the following areas:
    • 15+ years of experience in SAP BASIS.
    • HANA Database Admin,
    • Microsoft Azure Administration,
    • Ansible scripting
    • POC and POV creation
    • Track record of working as an Architect and delivering impactful results
    • Experience of leader team of engineers
    • Proficient with SAP BASIS Automations tools like LAMA, etc

    What you'll need to have

    Summary:
    • Sr SME will be accountable for maintaining the roadmap within the technology area.
    • Accountable for aligning design, operations, and support across the sub-domain level and from a
    holistic viewpoint, harmonize and drive the development of assigned Products and Services.
    • Develops understanding and knowledge of existing solutions, processes and tools within IKEA’s technology-process-delivery ecosystem and weighs various options to make design and develop holistic solutions
    • Responsible to ensure the overall solutioning and implementation across products from a technical
    engineering perspective to fit together in the scope of a sub-domain, aligned with strategies and direction to maintain consistency and alignment with the broader IKEA ecosystem.
    • Align with Solution Architecture on design and integrate products and services from a holistic perspective and on domain level. Ensure scaling, performance, and support across domains in the service and product landscape.
    • Stays up to date on developments in the industry, technology and evolution of systems in relevant platform/technology and in the digital landscape.
    • Evaluate existing solution design principles and recommend improvements.
    • Act as a senior member of the broader technology organisation, expected to represent technology both internally within IKEA and external in the market.
    • Sr SME has to design the solution, build, test and deliver both individually as a hands-on engineer and lead a team of suppliers or relevant team members for deliverables.
    • Should have good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to build consensus on solutions across digital and non-digital ecosystem.
    • Must lead by example in line with IKEA values and leadership compass.
    • Must have good written and verbal communication skills in order to present thoughts and influence effectively.

    Strategy and Roadmap
    • Maintain the technology strategy and roadmap of implementing features, new business capabilities, renew existing design and solution.
    • Liaison with Solution Architect, Enterprise architect and Management to build consensus on the strategy and prioritization.
    • Build POCs on new solutions and technologies.
    • Support the management in tactical and strategic initiatives and/or directions.

    Technology & Functional Expertise:
    • Providing technical expertise and advice on technology/platform architecture and making recommendations to improve business value and solution capability.
    • Help to define and promote solution architecture and enterprise architecture standards and strategies. Manage solution architecture analysis, design, build, test and deploy for Development, Execution, Operations & Infrastructure Architecture.
    • Must have an expert understanding of the functional and technical area in the context of the overall business processes and validate/challenge and build conceptual designs, identify dependencies across functional and technology areas, among others.
    • Making recommendations on strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of relevant technology/platform applications, as well as integrated legacy and third-party systems.
    • Advise on functional and technical approach for all systems integrating to relevant technology/platform, whilst also conducting due diligence and business assessments.
    • Understanding of relevant technology/platform’s strategy and roadmap, including it’s positioning as well as enabling tools and complementary technologies.


    Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
    • Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analysing and navigate complex issues and identifying creative and effective solutions.
    • Develops understanding and knowledge of existing solutions within IKEA’s technology-process-delivery ecosystem and weighs various options to make decisions on build/reuse existing solutions & capabilities.
    • Making well-informed decisions based on data, insights, and stakeholder input.
    • Handling crises and high-pressure situations with resourcefulness, composure and sound judgment.
    • Encouraging a culture of problem-solving and innovation within the team. Establishes a strong can-do mindset within the team.

    Stakeholder Management
    • Work with enterprise architects, solution architects, business stakeholders in adopting new technologies and maximizing the benefits of Ingka investment.
    • Create alignment on solutions between various organizations of Ingka.
    • Ensure the voice of business is heard in the digital management and vice versa and value is to delivered to the stakeholder.
