    About this work area

The Omni Area is IKEA’s strategic retail function responsible for delivering seamless, integrated shopping experiences across all customer touchpoints whether that is physical stores, e-commerce, pick-up points, and delivery services. This function bridges online and offline operations, ensuring customers can browse, purchase, and collect products through whichever channel suits them best. The Omni Area's core objective is to make IKEA more accessible, convenient, and affordable to customers across Australia and New Zealand, leveraging data-driven insights to optimise channel integration and enhance the end-to-end customer journey.

As the Country Site Merchandising Leader, you'll be at the heart of our digital transformation journey, planning and optimising our digital channels including app, web, and social commerce. You will drive conversion, enhance the customer experience, and deliver commercial success by:

    • Strengthening range presentation and experience across digital customer meeting points and relevant pages with key stakeholders
    • Developing and implementing merchandising plans, including content, range presentation, and sales steering input for product launches, campaigns, and seasonal activities aligned with core area plans and commercial calendar to maximise omni sales potential
    • Tracking, analysing, and reporting on performance metrics such as customer feedback, product sales and margin, search behaviour, funnel-step conversion, basket-analysis, and related selling, using insights to optimise performance
    • Actively working with all key stakeholders in commercial and digital to secure integration, shared focus, and maximum impact

You are a commercially astute, data-driven leader who thrives in the digital commerce and customer experience environment. You bring strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of e-commerce platforms and optimisation techniques for improving conversion. With comprehensive knowledge of omnichannel customer journeys and expertise in data-driven decision making, you excel at navigating complex, dynamic business environments while inspiring and influencing cross-functional teams. You are motivated by growing business and people together, and you have proven ability to work in agile environments, adapting strategies and tactics quickly based on feedback and changing business needs.

To be considered for this role you will have:

    • Strong documented managerial and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a direct team while also driving collaboration and influencing outcomes across cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
    • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic merchandising plans that balance commercial priorities with customer needs, delivering measurable improvements in conversion and customer satisfaction
    • Demonstrated expertise in improving profitability and managing complex digital operations, with strong analytical skills in tracking performance metrics and translating data insights into actionable optimization strategies
    • Strong ability to navigate and lead in a complex, dynamic, and continuously evolving business environment, driving change in a positive way to reach business goals while inspiring and influencing the many leaders and co-workers
    • Knowledge of the unique IKEA range and familiarity with IKEA values and brand, with the ability to lead the business through people and create customer value in everything you do
