Through coaching and partnership, you help teams embed sustainability into everyday decision-making and inspire co-workers to contribute to shared goals.

    Previous experience:
    - For this role, including Acting Country sustainability Manager for 6 months, we look for a minimum of 5 years senior experience from working with strategic sustainability and/or business leadership and a minimum of 10 years of work experience.
    - Drives sustainability projects from idea to implementation and delivers measurable results.
    - Builds strong partnerships across functions and stakeholders to embed sustainability into everyday business decisions.
    - Identifies opportunities and addresses challenges with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
    - Uses data and insights to monitor performance, drive improvement and create impact.
    - Engages, coaches and inspires co-workers to contribute to sustainability goals.
    - Thrives in a dynamic environment, navigating complexity and turning ambition into action.

    What you'll be doing day to day

    This role is for a Sustainability Business Partner that also serves as an Acting Country Sustainability Manager between January 2027 and June 2027 (including).

    As a Sustainability Business Partner you will enable the transformation and growth of the IKEA business by being a business partner and within applicable areas of the organisation you will secure and future proof a sustainable Ingka. You will also contribute and support others in the consistent and effective execution of the Ingka sustainability strategy.

    You will:
    - Initiate, develop and ensure execution of sustainability projects and programs, together with internal and external stakeholders.

    - Collaborate, coach and align with applicable country functions to secure sustainability is integrated across all country functions in delivering their sustainability contribution to the agreed frameworks and strategies.

    - Proactively identify challenges and opportunities and/or supporting units to overcome challenges and optimise opportunities.

    - Enable and follow-up sustainability performance and progress based on the country business plans, Group tools and methods.

    - Documenting and evaluating initiatives and activities with a view to capitalise on learning, sharing and promote continuous improvement.

    - Support store functions in steering on sustainability and creating co-worker engagement around sustainability.

    - Develop a strong understanding of specific sustainability situation in your country and contribute to country business agenda, to feedback and share across sustainability matrix.

    As mentioned above, you will take on an acting assignment as Country Sustainability Manager from January 2027 until June 2027. During this period, you will have the responsibilities of the Country Sustainability Manager role and provide leadership and continuity for the sustainability agenda.
    As Country Sustainability Manager you strategically lead the sustainability agenda of IKEA NL and manage the sustainability team. You ensure that alignment, budget and resources are in place to move the sustainability agenda in the Netherlands. You represent IKEA externally about sustainability and are comfortable with media. You drive strategy and change and comfortably handle unclear or unpredictable situations. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
