What you'll be doing day to day

Optimizes the IKEA shopping experience in the different Home Furnishing and Accessory Areas securing satisfied customers and increasing sales/gross profit. Lead, motivate, and inspire the selling team to use their knowledge of the IKEA product range, IKEA services, and the local market to deliver a consistent, seamless, and positive customer shopping experience.
• In partnership with the Sales Manager, delivers and leads the commercial action plan for the store; taking input from store and matrix partners to ensure achievement of agreed-upon goals/key performance indicators, priorities, sales performance, and sustained long-term profitability.
• Hires, onboards, and trains Shopkeepers in the department.
• Ensures Shopkeepers are always striving to fulfill the three IKEA customer motivators; "Is it worth it?", "Can I trust IKEA?" and "Is there something for me?" by securing that they are setting clear expectations with their co-workers, delivering a consistent, seamless, and positive customer shopping experience.
• Motivates and develops team members by agreeing on clear goals, conducting follow-up and taking action on deviations to ensure continuous improvement in the following: IKEA mechanical sales, merchandising basics, easy buying process, shelf availability, range management, sales steering, and efficient resource planning (hours budget, HL structure).
• Analyzes and shares local market insights, strengths and potentials when working with the team and with other functions to ensure the store is locally relevant, and when making strategic decisions around presenting our product range, leverages our price and quality ladder, using Layout as a commercial tool.
• Leads, attends, and contributes to cross-functional store meetings and forums as applicable.

The full salary range for this role is $85,341 - $123,700

QUALIFICATIONS

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail leadership
• Proven record of successfully managing, leading, and developing people, preferably in a customer-centric or retail environment
• Experience in customer service, problem-solving and conflict-handling techniques
• Experience in planning, driving output, and measuring performance (business)

Requirements
• Travel is less than 5-25% (1 day per week on average)
