We do this together with our ~1000 coworkers, from 15 locations around the world, by leading the tactical and operational planning, securing optimal replenishment, sourcing and development of transport and logistics capacities, and managing the goods flow.
In Category Distribution, we are responsible for securing handling & storing capacities for IKEA products. We do this by establishing and managing relationships with distribution centers around the world. Our ~40 coworkers work closely with Service Providers, Retailers, Wholesaler, and other stakeholders across the IKEA value chain.
Job description
For our Distribution Center in Dubai, we are currently looking for a Facility Specialist who contributes to efficient and effective facility management services in DC Dubai, both hard services (e.g., technical maintenance) as well as soft services (e.g., cleaning, waste management, pest control, building and retail equipment maintenances well as energy, emissions, and water management). Contributes to securing that the infrastructure of the unit and the technical equipment allows an efficient operation, at the lowest possible cost, and complies with sustainability, safety and security requirements for co-workers, visitors, and customers.
Your Assignment:
- Perform daily monitoring and coordinate for completion of scheduled preventive and/or corrective maintenance works on equipment and building installations
- Coordinate work of suppliers and supervise the assigned maintenance activities, repair, shutdowns and overhaul works.
- Support operation of the unit by ensuring minimum response time to breakdowns
- Responsible to ensure all activities assigned are done according with the schedule set in the Maintenance Plan and other trackers
- Contributes to identification of suppliers and procurement of parts required for maintenance works.
- Keep track and ensure inventory control for maintenance spare parts and tools.
- Provide feedback and give suggestions to improve equipment performance and availability.
- Respond to emergency calls for any troubleshooting required at site.
- Produce weekly and/or monthly technical reports on maintenance activities
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices in warehouse operations according to SOPs.
- Ensure daily compliance of the site with respect to local regulations and IKEA safety security framework requirements.
- Coordinate and collaborate with required stakeholders like security, operations, safety and others as required to ensure smooth workflow with minimal or no interruptions to operations
- Able to perform tasks within flexible working shifts.
Qualification
- High School diploma, or greater
- Over 5 years of documented hands-on facility maintenance operations experience, a professional license is a plus, ex., Electrical, HVAC.
- Fluency in English is required (both written and spoken).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues efficiently
