What you'll be doing day to day

As a Senior Data Scientist, you play a pivotal role in the design, development, and operation of digital products. You will have a technical leadership role for our AI & ML Capabilities that we are developing. You will be part of the full product development process in a product team, from understanding the problem, developing and validating ML models, then delivering and running our services in production. You will also align and work together with other teams and stakeholders across the organization.

You will be a part of the D&ML Remote Meeting Points Domain team, which handles most of the solutions used by our 10’000 coworkers in customer support centres globally as well as customer facing self-service solutions – including our communication platform, AI-powered chatbot, coworker copilots and coaching tools, knowledge management, case & returns management. We have a lot of data, and an important part of our work is using this data responsibly to improve IKEAs products and services. 

In short, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of AI at IKEA.

Who you are

You are excited about AI and modern technologies (generative AI, deep learning, cloud-native, global scale), and innovative ways of working (cross-functional, autonomous, agility, DevOps-minded). You are passionate about using AI and ML to improve the lives of the many people in a responsible way.

We would love to talk with you if you recognize yourself in some of the following:

Previous experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer.
Knowledge in developing and deploying Machine learning models, in particular natural language processing applications as much of our ML applications are based partly on text and voice.
Knowledge of using Large Language models, fine-tuning, RAG.
Knowledge of programming languages (Python in particular).
Knowledge of cloud-based services, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
“Full-stack” data scientist skill are seen as a plus – i.e. data engineering, devops, and data visualization skills in addition to your data scientist skills.
A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers, and loves sharing knowledge.
Passion about explaining AI to coworkers in IKEA, to increase our overall AI literacy and facilitate adoption of AI tools is a plus.
A curious world class problem solver who wants to keep learning!
