Right now we are looking for one permanent and one temporary Product Lifecycle Engineer to work in the area of Appliances

What is the role all about?
The Product Lifecycle Engineer plays an important role in our business and is responsible for life cycle management of our products. It is through our products we secure our mission at IKEA: “To create a better everyday life for the many people”. As Product Lifecycle Engineer you have a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people, around the globe. With this in the center of the assignment, IKEA provides great opportunities to learn, develop and grow with this assignment as well as IKEA.

To succeed in your role, you need to be able to take and give responsibility, lead yourself and work together with stakeholders from different functions and departments throughout our organisation.

So, in short you are going to work with the following areas:

  • Work in SolidWorks to review and create 3D and 2D drawings
  • Manage technical product documentation including CAD in our PLM system Windchill
  • Work close with product development teams
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the IKEA organization as well as suppliers
  • Since you will work with our appliances it would be preferable but not necessarily an electronical knowledge.

Qualifications
You are an Engineer, with a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You work in a structured way with analytical skills and to take the lead in your own work, as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and building good relations based on trust. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.
