What you'll be doing day to day
Data & ML is the family of data practitioners at IKEA, including data scientists, data analysts, data engineers and ML engineers, who are passionate about making sense out of data, to turn it into actionable insights, and to make automated data-driven decisions. You will be working with people from Data & ML as well as people from the content recommendation team who will be keen to follow you on your journey. The aim of the thesis is to use AI techniques for computer vision to create an automated pipeline for image analysis, segmentation and detection of home-furnishing objects, in a large-scale dataset of images.
We think you are a student in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics etc. with a good understanding of machine learning and deep learning, and with good programming skills in Python, ideally also with experience from ML-packages such as PyTorch and the Huggingface ecosystem.

To take part in the Thesis work, you must be enrolled in a thesis course provided at the university level/Thesis agreement with a university in Sweden. Preferably live in the Skåne area or with the possibility to commute.

Duration: Spring 2025. Start mid-January
