We are now looking for a senior system engineer who can lead the architectural agenda and transformation of Application Provisioning.

Within Application provisioning, you will be responsible for driving the strategy and vision for how our many co-workers and consultants should consume and engage with software and applications. You will work with Enterprise application delivery platforms with a focus on Citrix & Nutanix technology portfolio.

Within Application provisioning, you will be responsible for driving the strategy and vision for how our many co-workers and consultants should consume and engage with software and applications. You will work across two areas, Virtual apps & desktops which are the central hosting of published business applications and virtual desktop infrastructure and Web apps & portals which host and automate global published Web applications from our internal data centres across Europe, North America and Asia. The primary focus will be Virtual apps & Desktops.

WHO YOU ARE

Key Previous experience and proven skills:

• Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual apps and desktop technology. Passionate about delivering great user experience with a strong focus on high availability and security.
• Strong knowledge of operations engineering practices using industry-standard toolsets
• Deep knowledge of working in agile/iterative software development teams and with agile development practices
• Good understanding of the cost drivers and effective leveraging of service delivery as well as the commercial consequences of technical decisions
• Deep knowledge of technology, design and architecture concepts (i.e. microservices)
• Good knowledge of how to transform and optimise the area
• Strong knowledge of coaching techniques
• Good knowledge of IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

You will be responsible for:
• Responsible for ensuring the overall solution and implementation across products from a technical engineering perspective to fit together in the scope of a sub-domain, aligned with strategies and direction to maintain consistency and alignment with the broader IKEA ecosystem.
• Lead the security work for the Products/Services in the domain.
• Lead the planning and designing for implementing security by design on a technical level and ensuring legislation and requirements on a compliance level.
• Align with Enterprise Architecture on design and integrate products and services from the broader perspective and on the domain level. Ensure scaling, performance, and support across domains in the service and product landscape.
• Lead the work of benchmarking and continuous evaluation of the systems, technologies used and product/service scopes to ensure optimization across the domain.
• Lead adoption of design patterns, efficient usage of cross-cutting technology platforms and solutions to reuse across product teams in the (sub-) domain to enable efficiency and avoid unnecessary duplications.
• Responsible for being the leading digital workplace service integrator in terms of architectural roadmap and guidance for selected products and services.
• Together with the service integrator of Digital Workplace co-design a technology service through automation and self-service capabilities for efficiency, availability and usability.
• Design and educate in ways of working for other engineers as well as service integrators encouraging good practices to meet consumer expectations on Service delivery.
• Ensure and review systems compliance towards legislations, policies or other requirements to stay compliant.
• Take the lead in change activities in different environments to secure functionality and availability, coaching other team members through the process.
• Take responsibility for cooperation and align key stakeholders within Ingka and Inter-IKEA Systems with interdependencies towards Group Digital to develop Product/Service design and technical roadmaps.
• Contribute with expertise to the various Product Teams in tasks that require optimization/modifications to the current design.
• Lead in promoting and advocating good engineering practices within an agile/iterative development approach to improve time to market.
• Onboard, coach and mentor engineers to secure transfer of competence and enable a high-performing team.
• Proactively manage relevant organizational processes, to drive an intended outcome.
• Ensure that Services are built according to best practices by continually learning from and benchmarking against industry standards to continuously validate and improve deliverables.


QUESTIONS AND SUPPORT?

This role is based in Helsingborg or Malmö, Sweden and you will report to the Service Manager of Application provisioning.

In this recruitment there is no relocation support provided by IKEA, hence we're looking for people already living or within commuting distance of the mentioned locations of the role.
