IKEA Glasgow is looking for a dedicated and driven Commercial Restaurant Manager to lead our vibrant restaurant team and prepare for the exciting journey towards becoming our next IKEA Food Function Manager.


WHAT WE OFFER

• Expected start date November 2024
• Starting salary of £38,000 to be discussed at interview and based on skills & competency.
• 39 hours weekly, working 5 days over 7, alternate weekends.
• Working hours are between 7am to 10pm, approx.. 8 hours daily.

Final offers of employment are contingent upon clear results in mandatory medical questionnaire. Medical questionnaire must be completed by all successful candidates prior to start date.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a development role designed to prepare you for the next step: manage the Food function, deliver the business plan and commercial priorities, contribute to business success as a member for Store Steering Group.
As our Commercial Restaurant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping not only our Restaurant success but Food as a business.

You will be leading the Restaurant team as well as the Commercial Bistro & Swedish Food Market Manager and two Team leaders reporting directly to you.

Your leadership will be instrumental in creating a cohesive and motivated team that delivers exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and drive a £6 million food business ensuring commercial excellence, boosting profitability and operational efficiency.
• Deliver and coordinate large events with growth mindset.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement among co-workers, ensuring everyone feels valued and engaged.
• Monitor and analyse performance metrics, using data to drive decisions that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards, creating a safe environment for both customers and co-workers.
• Collaborate with various departments to align goals and share best practices, contributing to the overall success of the store.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team to deliver a better everyday life for the many, while embracing change with a solution-orientated mindset. This is an extremely fast paced working environment and requires you to multitask, producing and serving food with regular heavy lifting.

• Experience in leading in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to handle multiple topics and changing priorities/deadlines.

• Ability to deliver strong business results through people.

• Capable of communicating in English, both in writing and verbally.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Ensure the commercial agenda by securing that retail foundations and sales steering tools, food safety and Swedishness is in place
• Lead and implement the commercial strategy and commercial calendar in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Lead the implementation of the stores IKEA Retail Food communication strategy
• Develop and improve by seeking and acting upon customer feedback
• Ensure that the customer restaurant is in shape as new, common store planning solutions and vitality packages are implemented
• Secure that excellence in operations and high quality standards of customer experience in the customer and co-worker restaurant and optimised levels of commerciality are achieved by cooperating effectively with the Kitchen Production Manager
