We are now looking to recruit someone to become out new Business Development Manager and Company representative Bangladesh to lead the purchasing of products and components within Category Textiles, and in addition, lead our office in Bangladesh.
Our office in Bangladesh is a small office where you will have a big responsibility with close relations between all co-workers. In this role it is expected that you use your leadership skills to truly be an IKEA Ambassador, through Culture & Values and leading the office by example.

Job description
What will you do?
As Business Development Manager in Bangladesh you will deliver long term business results through developing people. You will be responsible for about 110 MEUR business, and have business team members reporting directly to you as well as additional coworkers in the office. You will;
- Through the IKEA way of doing business, be responsible to secure right pre-conditions and lead to achieve professional long term business development and excellent results for the Textiles Category, and other categories that have business in Bangladesh.
- Act as an ambassador of IKEA values and a Role Model for fact-based Business Leadership
- Inspire and empower the co-workers in your team to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments
- Be responsible for the Leadership and Competence agenda for the business team; recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co-workers directly in your team to meet short and long term business needs
- Establish and manage cost budget for the team and continuously use resources in an optimal way to secure business goals ensuring organizational efficiency
- As part of the Category Management team, you will actively contribute to the development of the long term Category Business Plans and secure that your organization delivers value to our customers
As Company representative (ISAG) Bangladesh, you will:
- Be responsible for Risk Management and Safety & Security for the Dhaka site
- Safeguard office operation, overlook the office costs, and support local recruitment processes
- Represent the Dhaka Site as an invitee in the Supply Area South Asia Management meetings and similar forums in Supply Area South Asia
Qualification
What we are looking for:
To be successful as Business Development Manager and Company Representative, you will need a proven track record in securely leading the business and people to deliver long term sustainable results, a background with extensive experience within purchasing/sourcing.
- You are a strong leader with knowledge and experience in the field of purchasing and negotiation skills, you have a strong capability to identify and capture business opportunities and deliver excellent results.
- As a spokesperson, you are able to build trust, comfortably networking with relevant internal and external stakeholders in and outside of Bangladesh.
- You have strong analytical skills and fact-based business leadership capabilities support making the right decisions and their implementation.
- You are fluent in communicating in written and spoken English, this is a pre-requisite for this role.

More Information
This position will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Travelling is a part of the assignment since our Business Development Managers need to work closely with our suppliers; and therefore requires travel to both domestic and international locations.
