Company description

At IKEA, we do things a little different. We think, differently. Act, differently. And work differently as well. We like to break things. Like rules. And then make things. Like music-playing lamps. And beds disguised as sofas. Even plant balls that help us look after our planet. It’s all part of our vision - to create a better everyday life for the many people.

About the team and assignment

The overall communication assignment is to lead, develop and enable impactful communication that delivers to making IKEA even more affordable, accessible, and sustainable and contribute to strengthening IKEA as a meaningful and trusted brand in people's hearts and minds.

We're looking for a senior communication leader to come and join our team within Supply Communication. The primary focus of this role will be on leading communication connected to IKEA Supply Chain’s development unit. The topics here are complex, fast-moving, ever evolving and key to keep the IKEA business running, developing and growing. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned communication professional who is eager to shape, develop, challenge and lead impactful strategic messaging supporting the IKEA development agenda.

In this position, you would come together with communication experts from all over the IKEA value chain. Your core team is ever-present, but the network is huge. You’d exchange ideas and knowledge, you’d listen, learn, teach and discuss. You are part of a movement involving the many people, and you understand that to succeed, we need to work together.

We could write about who you are and what you can do all day, but we would much rather have you show us.

This position can be based both in Älmhult and Warsaw.

Job description

As a communication leader you will work on the strategic roll-out of our approach to the new compliance and traceability systems; focusing mainly on stakeholder engagement plans and simplifying that which can be perceived technical and detailed. You would think about how to be transparent, honest and inspiring within the field of communication. You would use your previous experience to challenge the way we do and talk about things, always applying common sense and an outside-in view. You would support your management team with clarity and structure, navigating together through the known and the unknown, creating a thriving company culture and nurture successful teams.

You will:

  • Lead and develop holistic communication to strengthen the IKEA Brand and enable better business while acting as a strategic partner and tactical support to the Supply Chain Development’s Procurement team to define and enable their communication needs and goals.

  • Contribute as active member to the Supply Chain Development Communication Team.

  • Create and implement business strategies, priorities, and processes through communication.

  • Create clear and actionable communication plans and when needed to enable efficient and effective creation, production, and follow-up.

  • Work with cross-functional assignments, prioritised in the common communication plan and drive internal and external communication projects

  • Lead our business agenda through people and collaborate and interact with many different stakeholders, creating new relations and networks.

On top of this you will develop the communication competence in the unit/area/function and enable others to lead with communication and represent the IKEA Brand according to the IKEA values and tone of voice.

Qualification

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced communication professional who is eager to shape, develop and lead impactful strategic messaging supporting the IKEA Supply Chain Development agenda, technical progress and innovation.

To be successful in this role we believe that you:

  • Are an experienced communicator with at least 5 years working experience in strategic communication field.

  • Have extensive knowledge and understanding of working with business and communication planning and execution, and an understanding of how communication supports and increases the impact of a business agenda.
