    Would you like to work within a shop design team that can present beautiful home solutions and at the same time contribute to the growth of one of the best home furnishing stores in the world?

    Use home furnishing competence, knowledge of people's needs and dreams in the local market to design and implement relevant, inspiring, affordable and commercial displays of the IKEA home furnishing range that reflect the IKEA identity by showcasing a wide variety of styles, price levels that meet the many individual tastes and exceed our visitor's expectations. 

    IKEA Gateshead has positions available for in house Visual Merchandisers and Interior Designers within its Communication & Interior Design department.

    Do you resonate with the values, have a passion for home furnishings and have a drive to develop yourself and IKEA further?
    We are looking for the following skills, knowledge and experience to qualify for the role,
    Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics with the ability to generate new ideas and concepts
    A passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home
    Be able to draw, visualise and present ideas with an attention to detail
    Have the ability to work in a fast retail environment
    Have practical hands-on approach to work
    Retail experience is preferred but not necessary
    You are enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and can work flexibly as a team or independently

    Preferred qualifications and technical skills;

    Interior Design, visual merchandising or a design related qualification is preferred
    Revit
    Microsoft office


    WHAT WE OFFER

    • Starting salary of £26,400 based on competence and experience .
    • 39 Hours working 5 days over 7. This role might require availability to occasionally
    work late evenings, weekends, and night shifts. Shifts may change according to
    business/project need.
