    • Position type: Permanent, full-time (Hybrid)
    • Internal job title: IKEA Business Field Sales Specialist
    • Work location: Customer Service Centre (RCMP), Tempe NSW
    • Working hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday, (occasional after-hours to attend events).
    • Pre-employment checks: the final candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment, which includes a National Police Check.
    • Mobility: a valid driver's license is required for customer visits, trade shows and other events.

    Who you are

    As New Business Development Specialist you are or have:
    • A strong understanding of the B2B market landscape, particularly within SMB segments, enabling you to spot and act on new business opportunities.
    • Demonstrated experience in proactive, outbound sales, with the ability to generate and convert leads across multiple channels.
    • A result driven and growth focused mindset, consistently aiming to exceed acquisition and sales targets.
    • Confidence and skill in being the first point of contact for new customers, guiding them through a smooth and positive onboarding journey.
    • Strong analytical capability to interpret market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to identify untapped opportunities.
    • Proficiency in developing compelling proposals and presentations that address customer needs and support the sales process.
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, enabling you to engage customers, stakeholders, and cross functional teams with ease.
    • The ability to negotiate effectively and manage contract finalisation with professionalism and attention to detail.
    • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset that helps drive customer focused outcomes across teams and functions.
    • A commitment to building strong, long-term customer relationships by delivering high levels of satisfaction.

    About this work area

    As New Business Development Specialist, you are proactive and results driven, dedicated to significantly expanding our B2B customer base. Your primary focus will be on identifying, engaging, and securing new business. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Proactively drive new business acquisition and direct sales through strategic outbound engagement with small-medium business (SMB).
    • Identify and cultivate new sales leads and opportunities through various channels, converting prospects into loyal IKEA for Business customers.
    • Serve as the initial key point of contact for newly acquired customers, ensuring a seamless onboarding and satisfying customer journey.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver tailored, high-quality solutions that attract and secure new customer accounts.
    • Continuously analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to proactively identify untapped opportunities and refine new business sales strategies.
    • Skilfully negotiate and support contract finalisation with new clients in collaboration with legal and internal stakeholders.
    • Actively represent IKEA at trade shows and industry events, expertly networking to generate new leads and identify emerging market opportunities for growth.
    • Lay the groundwork for long-term relationships by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
