  • IKEA Warrington, WA5 7TY are looking to welcome a Electrical Visual Merchandising Assistant to join our creative team.

    Do you enjoy combining technical expertise with creativity? As a Visual Merchandiser (Electrician) at IKEA, you'll help transform our store through commercial projects, store builds, layout changes and visual displays. From carrying out basic electrical work and fixture installations to supporting major store developments, you'll play an important part in creating inspiring spaces that surprise, engage and delight our customers.


    WHAT WE OFFER

    • The Start Date of employment will be: approx. 10th of August 2026 but can be discussed at interview stage due to notice periods etc.
    • Starting salary of £27,540 per annum, based on competence and experience.
    • 39 hours working 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.
    • Working hours are between 6am to 2:30pm.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

    We are looking for someone with passion for home furnishings and have customers at heart in everything they do.
    • Level 3 City & Guilds Electrotechnical qualification (Edition 18)
    • Recognised training of basic hand tool electrical & Ladder training (or equivalent), documented annual check to assess works to a certified standard including:
    • Electrical Regulations and best practises for electrical safety
    • Working with single phase (domestic) mains electricity
    • Cable routing, Correct termination of cables, correct wiring of plugs and light fittings
    • Understanding of Communication and Interior Design Health and Safety practices
    • Creative thinking supported by commercial visual competence and a keen eye for aesthetic
    • Actively seeking new and improved ways of working simply and cost-efficiently
    • Openness to change and flexibility in varying fast paced environment
    • Work well and collaborative in their approach within team and other functions
    • Positive communication style using influencing skills and situational leadership
    • Supporting store Carpenters & Visual Merchandising team with installing & building fixtures/shopfitting/carpentry instore.
    • To be able to work on own initiative but also a part of the design process with team, solving technical issues with designers.


    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

    • Support the delivery of commercial changes across the store, including painting, basic electrical work, fixture installation, and the assembly and disassembly of shop fittings.
    • Assist with store development projects, supporting new builds from initial planning through to successful completion.
    • Help maintain a consistently high standard of store presentation through proactive planning and implementation of range and layout changes.
    • Ensure all basic electrical work is carried out safely and in line with current compliance requirements and company standards.
    • Put customers first by working safely and efficiently on the shop floor, minimising disruption and maintaining an attractive shopping environment.
    • Collaborate closely with the Communication & Interior Design team and other business functions to plan commercial spaces and deliver store projects successfully.
    • Deliver work to a high standard while balancing quality, simplicity and cost efficiency, following established processes and best practices.
    • Contribute ideas and initiatives that support business growth, operational improvements and long-term profitability.
    • Execute Communication & Interior Design and store action plans with attention to detail and a sense of urgency, helping to create an engaging and inspiring customer experience.
    • Work collaboratively across departments to deliver commercial priorities, maximise opportunities and support store performance.
