    You probably have at least 5-7 years of relevant project management experience within logistics with a major impact on people and processes. You have a natural talent to inspire and influence others in an honest and straightforward way. Dealing with a diverse set of stakeholders and target groups energises you, and you are comfortable leading in the unknown while not losing focus on expected deliverables. A good understanding and experience of the everyday IKEA store co-worker life is considered a strong plus.

    To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to transform complex data into clear insights and decision-making material.
    • Strong understanding of established project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI/PMBOK, Agile), with the ability to apply structured governance, planning, risk management, and delivery practices in complex implementation environments.
    • Proven experience leading complex logistics transformation programs across multiple markets and stakeholders.
    • Strong planning, organisational, and risk management skills, with a structured approach to driving execution and ensuring successful delivery.
    • Proven experience delivering large-scale, multi-country roll-outs of complex business and operational solutions.
    • Strong customer and co-worker focus, with a solid understanding of how operational decisions impact both the customer experience and business performance.
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive progress while fostering collaboration, engagement, and alignment across cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all organisational levels.
    • Strong understanding of the IKEA Concept, IKEA culture, values, and tone of voice, and the ability to apply them consistently in day-to-day work and leadership.

    Your responsibilities

    The key responsibilities are:
    • Lead the roll-out of IKEA's new last mile solution in the pilot market, ensuring successful deployment while capturing learnings, risks, and improvement opportunities to shape future roll-outs.
    • Assess existing initiatives within the transformation scope and drive their integration into a scalable and sustainable deployment approach.
    • Drive stakeholder alignment, implementation readiness, adoption, and delivery against agreed objectives.
    • Act as the central coordination point between country teams, global stakeholders, operational units, and subject matter experts throughout the deployment lifecycle.
    • Identify and manage implementation risks, dependencies, and organisational impacts, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation where needed.
    • Lead and support key deployment activities, including solution walkthroughs, gap assessments, training, go-live preparation, and project closure.
    • Establish governance and feedback mechanisms to capture learnings, validate assumptions, and continuously improve the solution and deployment approach.
    • Monitor deployment progress, adoption, and business outcomes, leveraging data and insights to drive informed decision-making, measure success against agreed objectives, and provide clear recommendations to leadership and programme stakeholders.

    Why this role is unique:

    This is not a traditional rollout position. As the Launch & Rollout Leader for our first market, you will play a critical role in validating the deployment approach, shaping the future rollout model, and establishing the foundation for successful implementation across multiple markets. Your work will directly influence how this IKEA transformation is scaled globally.

    Our team within IKEA

    The Last & First Mile Transformation (LFMT) project team consists of experienced colleagues with diverse backgrounds. We work in an agile way, where each of us takes the lead on parts of the project.

    Most of us are based in Amsterdam (Amshult) and Malmö (Hubhult), so we are looking for our new colleague to be based in one of these locations.

    Please note: This is a temporary position for 2 years.

    The role involves some travel, with more frequent travel expected during key phases of the project when being together in person is especially important.
