Company description
Älmhult is where IKEA began, and where we continue to challenge ourselves to find better ways forward.
People from all over the world come here to work, live, visit and experience the destination Älmhult and IKEA. It is a place where ideas become reality, where different perspectives meet and where we work together to create experiences that matter to co-workers, guests and the many people.
At IKEA Älmhult AB, around 270 co-workers develop and operate IKEA Museum, IKEA Hotell, restaurants, meeting places and experiences that make Älmhult a destination in its own right.
As we continue to grow and develop, we are looking for people who want to be part of the journey.
And this is where you come in.
Job description
Every guest journey starts somewhere. It might be a question about a hotel stay, a booking for a meeting or an enquiry about an experience at IKEA Museum. Whatever brings people to Älmhult, we want to make it easy for them to discover, book and enjoy everything we have to offer.
As we continue to strengthen our Sales & Booking capability, we are building a more proactive and relationship-driven way of working that helps us create even better experiences for guests and customers. As a Sales & Booking Generalist, you will play an important role in that journey by helping guests, customers and partners find the right experiences, services and solutions.
As part of our Sales & Booking team, you will help guests discover and experience everything IKEA Älmhult has to offer, from hotels and museums to meetings, events and restaurants, including IKEA Hotell, IKEA Museum, Museum of Furniture Studies, Aktivitetshuset, Bölsö, our restaurants, meetings and events.
You will follow the guest journey from first enquiry through booking and arrival, building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping create memorable experiences across IKEA Älmhult's hospitality and destination offer.
Your success will be reflected in satisfied customers, stronger customer relationships, increased conversion and more enquiries turning into confirmed bookings.
In this role you will:
- Build relationships with partners, customers and guests, helping them find the right solutions while creating a smooth and welcoming experience from first enquiry to arrival.
- Handle customer enquiries, offers and bookings, ensuring accurate information, timely follow-up and a seamless customer journey.
- Identify sales opportunities, understand customer needs and contribute to increased bookings and long-term customer relationships.
- Work with booking systems, customer information and digital tools while contributing to the development of more effective ways of working.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across our hospitality, museums, restaurants and event businesses to deliver great guest experiences and support business growth.
Qualification
We are looking for an engaged, service-minded and down-to-earth person who enjoys working with people, creating positive customer experiences and making things happen.
You understand the importance of great hospitality and know how to combine customer needs with a proactive and commercial mindset. You enjoy building relationships, identifying opportunities and taking initiative to create value for both customers and the business.
Experience from hospitality, customer service, sales, events or another customer-focused business will be valuable. You don't need to know everything about our different businesses from day one. What matters most is your curiosity, willingness to learn and ability to create great experiences through every customer interaction.
We believe you have:
- Experience working directly with customers, guests or clients in a service, sales or booking-related environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust, create positive customer relationships and work effectively across different teams and businesses.
- A proactive approach to sales, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn customer enquiries into bookings.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with structure and accuracy.
- Confidence using digital tools and systems, with the ability to learn new booking and customer management platforms.
- Ability to take initiative, follow up on opportunities and contribute to a more proactive sales and customer-focused way of working.
This is an opportunity to join a team that is shaping how guests discover, book and experience IKEA Älmhult. If you enjoy building relationships, creating great guest experiences and being part of a business that is growing and evolving, we would love to hear from you.
