  • Company description

Älmhult is where IKEA began in 1943 and remains a place where people from around the world come together to work, live and experience IKEA.

At IKEA Älmhult AB, around 270 co-workers run and develop IKEA Museum, IKEA Hotell, Bölsö, restaurants, cultural experiences, workplaces and outdoor areas that welcome and support co-workers, guests and the local community. And there’s more to come. At the beginning of 2027, we’re opening a new kind of museum for furniture design, and in 2028, our new IKEA Hotel will open its doors.

With our roots in Småland and our eyes on the future, we continue to develop our businesses, experiences and places – making Älmhult an even better place for the next generation.

And this is where you come in.

    Job description

The stories behind IKEA are more than memories. They are part of our heritage and an important source of learning for future generations.

As Material Production Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring that significant events, decisions, milestones and personal experiences across IKEA are documented, preserved and safeguarded. Working closely with Archive & Collections and a broad network of stakeholders, you will identify what needs to be captured, build trusted relationships and create high-quality content that becomes part of IKEA's collective memory.

Success in this role means helping IKEA safeguard its contemporary history. By building trusted relationships, identifying what stories matter most and capturing them through engaging content, you will ensure that important knowledge, experiences and milestones become part of IKEA's collective memory. At the same time, you will help establish a long-term approach to how contemporary history is documented and preserved for future generations.

    You will:

    • Lead and drive documentation projects from planning through production and delivery.
    • Conduct interviews and capture stories from stakeholders across different functions, markets and leadership levels.
    • Produce and edit content through film, photography and digital formats.
    • Identify historical knowledge gaps and help prioritise future documentation efforts.
    • Collaborate across IKEA to strengthen the long-term preservation of our contemporary history

    What makes this opportunity unique:

Most of the work is performed on-site in Älmhult, with occasional travel connected to interviews, documentation and stakeholder meetings.

In this role, you will work with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility while collaborating with colleagues across IKEA. It is a unique opportunity to combine storytelling, production, relationship-building and strategic thinking in a role that helps preserve IKEA history for future generations.

If you are motivated by people, stories and creating meaningful content with lasting impact, we look forward to hearing from you.

    Qualification

We believe you are motivated by storytelling, collaboration and creating content that makes a lasting impact. You are comfortable navigating complex organisations, building trust with stakeholders and turning insights into meaningful stories that engage different audiences. Knowledge of IKEA culture, values and ways of working will help you quickly build connections and create value in this role

    Required

    • Experience working with film, photography and content production from idea to finished delivery.
    • Strong ability to conduct interviews and turn insights into compelling stories.
    • Experience leading projects and coordinating multiple activities simultaneously.
    • Proven ability to build trust and collaborate with stakeholders across different levels and functions.
    • Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
