Additional Information:
• This role is Permanent, Full-time 76hrs/fortnight.
• The internal job title for this role is IKEA Food Co-worker.
• The shift times required to work will be spread between 7:30am to 9:30pm.
• As we operate 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts.
• You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
RECRUITMENT PROCESS AND KEY DATES
• We require adequate availability, without holidays booked, during the peak trading period (from December to March) for this role.
• If your application is successful, you may be invited to complete a video screening interview as part of the recruitment process.
• If your application is progressed, you will be invited to attend an in-person interview with the hiring team.
About this work area
As a Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with food standards by keeping it clean and organised.
• Food preparation and cooking with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
• Operating the industrial dishwashing machine and sorting cutlery.
• You must be comfortable standing and working at the sink, as this is where your main duties will preside.
• Prioritising strict cooking timelines and multi-tasking under pressure during rush hours.
• Using your IKEA Food knowledge to exceed customer expectations, confidently answering their questions so they can make informed purchase decisions.
As a Food Co-worker, you are or have:
• Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation.
• High customer-centric approach as you will focus on ensuring our customers have a positive dining experience.
• Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Previous hospitality and cookery experience is essential.
• Prior commercial cooking experience is required for this role.
• An energetic and team-focused approach as this department can become extremely busy.
• Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
