Why we will love youYou care about making a positive impact in the world. A job at IKEA is so much more than home furnishings, we work to make sustainable living easy and affordable for everyone. Want to help us create a more sustainable future? Join our team!
What you'll be doing day to day
Every day, we’re using and wasting more energy and resources than ever before, and this isn’t good news for the planet. At IKEA, we’d like to create more from less. Because we know that when we produce less waste, we’ll be able to leave a cleaner, healthier planet to the generations to come.
As a Sustainability Specialist, responsible for improving waste & recycling practices for the Distribution / Customer Fulfillment Center, you will:
Engage and motivate others to accomplish sustainability unit goals, which include environmental, social, and economic, by sharing knowledge, trends, and best practices.
Act as the designated IKEA representative responsible for processes and audits as needed within the unit.
Build strong relationships with both internal and external partners as a primary link to the IKEA values and sustainability.
Liaise with external partners in the community coordinating community activities like volunteering events, donation drives, and overall brand awareness.
Identify and capture processes and opportunities within the unit to improve local goals and metrics related to social responsibility.
Retain and measure data associated with unit and country goals.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in all locations within the fulfilment unit.
Contribute to an environment where IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.
Together as a team
Some would call us idealists who want to change the world, but we are firm believers that we actually can have a positive impact on people, society and planet. We put our heads together to solve the big questions: how IKEA products can become circular by using material and resources in the best way, how to improve the lives of the people who create our products, and how IKEA can benefit the communities where we operate.
