  • Are you a strategic sourcing expert ready to shape the future of IKEA's fulfilment across Australia and New Zealand? Your leadership will be pivotal in optimising our network, ensuring seamless operations and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

    About this work area

At IKEA, our Customer Fulfilment (CFF) team is all about making our omnichannel retailing a reality. We're a fully integrated, process-driven function working end-to-end to ensure a seamless shopping experience and great quality for the many people. Our mission is to develop and secure efficient fulfilment of products and affordable services across all sales channels, always focusing on excellent lead times, availability, and quality at the lowest possible costs. By building a strong omnichannel network, we aim to reach more customers, secure satisfaction, and drive long-term profitability responsibly.

As the Country Sourcing Operations Leader for IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will be responsible for leading and securing a cost-efficient sourcing model for capacities and capabilities across warehousing, transportation, and services. You will drive the deployment of process-compliant sourcing solutions to foster data-driven and effective sourcing-to-pay processes with clear performance goals. Ultimately, you will lead the sourcing of an optimal capacity portfolio to ensure a smooth handover for network execution and a positive customer experience. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Leading the sourcing agenda and improvements, ensuring process compliance to foster a digital, data-driven sourcing organisation with clear objectives, and secure long-term development for growth at the lowest possible cost through efficient sourcing activities.
    • Managing all assigned contracts in the market, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, SLAs, performance metrics, and legal/risk requirements through strong supplier relationship management to secure continued development and high performance.
    • Developing a robust pool of potential service partners and cultivate long-term supplier relationships to secure short, mid, and long-term capacity for growth, positioning IKEA as a preferred partner.
    • Ensuring alignment with defined CFF Sourcing objectives and goals related to growth and cost plans, taking responsibility for sourcing design, Source-to-Pay process compliance, and development projects across CFF, especially for the last mile network as part of the end-to-end omnichannel network and the core service offer.
    • Acting as a strategic sourcing expert, sharing knowledge with colleagues and business partners to support their competence development, promoting effective sourcing principles, ensuring efficient information flow, and aligning with group, partners, and stakeholders on relevant topics.

You are an expert in managing supplier relationships and driving the development of external partners and service providers through a strong understanding of long-term roadmaps. Possessing excellent omnichannel knowledge and logistics market intelligence, you effectively navigate complex fulfillment models and apply financial acumen to impact total network and offer. You demonstrate a highly collaborative mindset, adept at building relationships and influencing positive change within complex, multicultural, and matrix environments, always with a strong end-to-end orientation to drive business goals and continuous improvement.

To be considered for this role you will have:
    • A University degree (Economics, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management) or relevant strategic sourcing working experience (transport/logistics, services and/or home furnishing).
    • 4+ years of working experience in a management position (preferably in distribution, retail, logistics, or similar).
    • Proven successful leadership in a large organisation, delivering both business results and people development.
    • Knowledge of legislation/regulations governing the transport and services industry.
    • Experience in securing the implementation of mid-term and long-term strategies and plans with clear objectives and goals, including performance follow-up.
    • Strategic sourcing experience in a large volume organisation (preferably in the area of indirect materials).
    • Experience in contract management, business development, key account management, or similar.
    • Successfully led projects on a country/market/national level.

    Additional information:
    • Permanent, full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
    • The location for the role is Service Office, Tempe NSW, with a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.
    • If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a national police check.
