    Additional information:
    • This role is a temporary full-time position for 6 months (76 hours per fortnight).
    • The Internal title for this role is Business, Risk and Compliance Specialist

    • Because our store operates 7 days per week, you must be available to work a rotating roster including day and evening shifts, with alternating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday).
    • As part of the recruitment process, final candidates will complete a pre-employment check, including a National Police Check.

    About this work area

    As a Safety, Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will help ensure a safe and secure environment for co-workers, customers, and visitors in our store. Your work will focus on identifying risks, responding to incidents, and supporting teams across the store to improve safety and compliance.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Helping keep co-workers and customers safe by identifying risks and improving safety practices across the store.
    • Responding to incidents or emergencies and supporting teams to ensure everyone remains safe.
    • Working closely with leaders and departments to identify risks and find practical solutions.
    • Delivering safety and compliance training to co-workers and contractors.
    • Supporting a strong safety culture by encouraging awareness and proactive risk management.
    • Ensuring compliance with the IKEA Group Risk Manual, IKEA rules and guidelines, and relevant national and local legislation.
    • Conducting regular checks of store areas, equipment, and processes to identify potential safety gaps.
    • Ensuring key safety equipment and systems (such as fire extinguishers, alarms, emergency exits, and evacuation plans) are maintained and up to date.
    • Reviewing incidents and hazards to identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve safety across the store.

    This role involves a physical component. The successful candidate must be able to respond promptly to incidents, navigate stairs where required, and sustain extended periods of standing and walking while conducting full-store audits and routine compliance checks.
