We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Digital Product Area: “Product Engineering”, a part of Digital Engineering at Inter IKEA, Range. The Product Engineering Area is dedicated to ensuring an attractive, consistent, and efficient way of working for product development and our suppliers. Our goal is to establish a strong foundation for IKEA's product information, enabling its seamless use across the entire value chain. We are growing our team in Malmö, Sweden, but you need to have great communication and collaboration skills to be able to integrate our offshore team.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer who wants to solve complex, real-world problems to make life at home simpler. Join us on our journey as we level up our technology to enhance everyday experiences. Your primary focus will be on developing solutions for the handling of materials in our product designers work and you’ll report to a Software Engineering Manager. The impact of your work will touch homes and hearts around the world. On a typical day, you will: 

• Build and evolve our material management solution, a core part of IKEA's digital landscape. 

• Develop web applications, APIs, and cloud services using Next.js, .NET, and Azure. 

• Contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and design to delivery and continuous improvement. 

• Be part of a team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and openness, while actively sharing knowledge and supporting others. 

• Bring curiosity and contribute ideas that improve both our products and ways of working. 

• Ensure high-quality software through code reviews, automated testing, and engineering best practices. 

What we’d like you to bring to the table  
 
This role as a Software Engineer requires you to:  

• Be highly skilled and experienced within React, NextJs and Typescript, a minimum of 3-5 years of work life experience  

• Be highly skilled and experienced within C# and .NET framework, a minimum of 3-5 years of work life experience 

• Have good knowledge of Azure.   

• Have good interpersonal skills: active listening, coaching and facilitation.  

• Be an excellent communicator by communicating in a clear, structured and honest way – both with inhouse and offshore team and colleagues   

• Have a deep understanding of IKEA's core values and cultural principles as well as a mindset and way of working that reflects this  

It’s a plus if you also:  

• Worked with CI/CD, Terraform (IaC), Github Actions and cloud services  

• Have knowledge of database technologies like MongoDB, Postgres DB   

• Have experience with Jest/Playwright for Frontend testing  

• Are skilled in building dynamic and responsive user interfaces with React
